Mashed Potatoes, anyone?

I love mash.... but smash isn't too bad either. When you're camping or whatever though.

I think we have a whole generation that think food comes in packets, plastic, bottles and cans. The sad thing is if someone planted one of these kids in the middle of a field full of garden produce with some live chickens and a stove, the kid would starve to death.

True that!

I cook proper meals (no pasta sauces and smash from packets) every night and maybe we get some Nandos, KFC (yuck), pizza, burgers once a week. 2 weeks ago I had a crazy work week and we happened to get takeaways 2 nights in a row...my teenager asked when I was cooking again because the last time I cooked was 3 days ago...made me laugh. Most teenagers would relish the thought of junk food 2 days in a row.

Once a week? I get that privilige usually once every two months....

Hubby's favourite mash is chopped leeks boiled with the potatoes and then mashed with butter. Awesome with a steak, gravy and veg.

Ag shame! ;)

I can afford it and it gives me one night to just chill. Although I'm less and less enthusiastic about it because the fat and sodium content of takeaways is always so high.

Had takeaways a month or so ago... you must have a lot of money to buy takeaways that frequently...

We can't afford it anymore - too expensive, there are smaller portions and you don't get the same quality as you've used to before...

Ja, I can afford it but I suppose if I couldn't we wouldn't get them.

Good lord, alf

Enough with the microwaving. Do you have pots?

Can't use pots in the microwave

Why the need for pots when he has plastic bags and a microwave? And a stocked up freezer full of instant lasagnes and pizza cones...:D

And frozen veg, ice cream, microwave pies ( sounds dodgy, but ok, just make sure u place it correctly) and microwave chips (need lots of salt and spur dressing then they taste ok). :)
