Mashed Potatoes, anyone?

lol - reminds me of my housemate, hes progressing from the Mr Delivery on tap to making himself plain pasta with pesto.

i still prefer to cook my own food, its therapeutic...

You can also wedge the door open and stick your hand in while the microwave is on. But I aint gonna do it...

Btw... Knorr make a pasta and sauce in a packet.
Takes 12 min in the microwave - u don't have to spend the whole night cooking.

my daughter loves to make us 2 min noodles in the micro then she grates cheese in it. we love that.

I also don't spend ages in the kitchen. I can guarantee you that I can whip up a tastier pasta dish in the time it takes you to make your precious microwave, processed vomit flavoured pasta.

ha ha they don't know what they missing. ;)

I do, that's why I don't eat it...:p:D Good that your daughter takes an interest in the kitchen though...;)

ha ha ok. yeah she might be taking after her mamma as i am almost useless in the kitchen.

Doesn't anyone cook proper food anymore? It's not that difficult to peel and boil a couple of potatoes then mash them up with milk and butter.

I can't stand all the "just add water" pre-prepared foods. They taste nothing like the real thing.

+1000

I think we have a whole generation that think food comes in packets, plastic, bottles and cans. The sad thing is if someone planted one of these kids in the middle of a field full of garden produce with some live chickens and a stove, the kid would starve to death.

Good lord, alf

Enough with the microwaving. Do you have pots?

Why the need for pots when he has plastic bags and a microwave? And a stocked up freezer full of instant lasagnes and pizza cones...:D

There is a restaurant in London, Mother Mash, that specialises in mashed potato dishes :)

Can you imagine? A restaurant devoted to mashed potatoes? Mashed potatoes as your main course? Yes, it exists. In almost every permutation possible. Mash and cheese. Mash and chives. Plain mash, curry mash, peas mash, corn mash, Irish mash, and of course… gravy! A lake of gravy sitting at the bottom of a shallow bowl!

Sounds awesome!!!!

I love mash!!!! :D
Make mine in a pot, with milk, butter and salt :) Heaven!!!

Add black pepper, substitute the milk with cream if you feel decadent and finally, mix in some chopped chives.

Mustard works too, as does a little grated cheese, roasted garlic cloves squeezed into the mash, herbs and spices, substituting ordinary butter with cooked brown butter etc. Its so versatile.

Here's one of my favourite recipes:

Get some wild, dry mushrooms and re-constitute them in water. Save the water and cook your potatoes in this water. Now make the mash by adding some roasted garlic cloves, squeezed in to the mash towards the end with salt, pepper, flat-leaf parsley, butter and cream. Delish!!!!
