Mass Effect: Andromeda

I liked this part:

Unlike some here I liked Dragon Age Inquisition's mechanics, and I really liked the character development.

Yeah, I didn't particularly hate it, which I would've remembered. DA: I seems to have split quite a lot of people, but I really enjoyed it.

One of the positives seems to be that many people consider the facial animation issues and other technical problems to be the biggest problems. I was more worried about poor writing (still possible, I guess) and poor character development.

He is someone's gaming criticism that I respect,

will see what Total Biscuit has to say later on.

I quickly tried out the game this morning. Firstly, it's Mass Effect! Yay!

It also looks ridiculously pretty. I'm running it on Ultra and it's on a constant 60fps. I haven't left the ship however and I can't wait to see what it looks like on a planet.

The character customisation is exceptionally poor. I always create a character that looks a certain way and I couldn't do it in Andromeda. In the end I just went with the default female Ryder because of how bad the customisation is.

So far the animations looked fine. I haven't seen any bad animations and everything looks alright.

I look forward to playing tonight. It's so silly to have to go to work. Unfortunately I can't take leave. :(

*cough* sick day *cough*

Let us know how it goes!

Yeah, if it ends up being DA:I in space, I will probably pick it up.

So like this?

The character customisation part makes me sad, as I felt the one in Dragon Age Inquisition was excellent. They could have literally copied and pasted it and it would have been better. However I think there is more at work here. Namely they wanted the twin thing to work properly, which means they most likely simplified it.

Doesn't change the fact that female Ryder has this wtf confused permanently retarded look on her face. I'll be playing with the guy, at least he looks a bit more normal...

Take a look at this, redditors sharing their slider settings and EA is busy with a website where you can do the same. Some of the femsheps don't look half bad.

Probably bioware, they were always stupid ridiculous priced DLC.

First hour down and first things first, this feels like a Mass Effect game.

I haven't really noticed many of the glitches that everyone's been complaining about, but then again ME has always had bugs and glitches. Maybe I've played the other games so many times that I've become oblivious to it.

The facial animations - not really an issue. Not much difference from the previous games. I think that everyone was expecting 'wow' and they were disappointed when they didn't get it. However the human females do look a bit plastic. The human males and other species look better.

So far so good. It seems like most of the moaners probably watched a few YouTube videos and started bitching without even playing the game. I'm sure there will be some annoyances further down the line, but every previous ME had that.

I think it's fine. If you liked and were a fan of the previous games, you'll feel at home here...

Edit: oh yes, the jet pack is awesome. It's something the previous games sorely needed.

When you say ME game what do you mean exactly? 2 & 3 were a huge 180 from the first game, which was more RPG, then it was basically Gears of War in space. Still enjoyable though.

Also, 'member when PC games were significantly cheaper than console games? I 'member.

I'd the say the combat from 2 & 3, with some of the RPG elements of the first game
