Counter-terrorism police have joined an investigation into a mass stabbing on a train, which left nine people with life-threatening injuries.

The train was stopped at Huntingdon station, in Cambridgeshire, after police were called at around 7.40pm on Saturday.

A man with a large knife is believed to have been shot with a Taser by police after going on a bloody rampage on the high-speed train after it left nearby

British Transport Police said two people had been arrested and in total, 10 people - nine with life-threatening injuries - had been taken to hospital.

I’ve been watching on Sky News and it’s been now 16 minutes before they mention a description of the nutter.

Black guy dressed all in black apparently.

They need to be careful not to make it sound like it’s a British person, namely Muslim and foreign lol.

This is scary ****. When I visit the UK I rely on trains for everywhere scary that some nutjob might go nuts on you without warning or provocation

It's a horrible thought for sure, but bear in mind that around 4,7 million people use UK trains every day in the UK.

Around 40 people are killed in car accidents a day in SA. 52 people have been killed in terror attacks on UK public transport in the past 20 years.

Still a safe way to travel.

In SA you know to be careful and for the most part it's predictable. In terror attacks it is the unpredictable nature of the potential.

Well yes and no. You can be as careful as you like on the roads and still encounter someone overtaking on a blind bend.

Terror attacks are certainly unpredictable, yes, but statistically the chances of getting caught up in one are miniscule.

… for now!

When last was there a mass stabbing on a train in SA? Why are we even comparing the 2?
