You can also get on at a tube station and transfer to national rail in many places without even going through a barrier. Completely unworkable.

Exactly.

And at peak times they sometimes have to close tube stations as there are just too many people in them. To make the system work all tube passengers would have to be subject to these security checks too.

The idea is just 😂😂😂

You can't even defend yourself with pepper spray when someone is trying to stab you on the train because its illegal. You must just contact the police while you are getting stabbed.

Yes, well fortunately it doesn't happen very often. Around 4,7 million train trips are taken every day and we very seldom hear of anyone being stabbed on trains.

Not really something to cause sleepless nights. You're more likely to be hit on the head by falling scaffolding and your pepper spray or Glock won't help with that.

I can think of more things than stabbings that calls for the use of pepper spray, especially for woman. Is that why the police are on high alert on trains until tuesday?

Again you have a point. Wasn't it Prophet Kirk (PBUH) who said that women should rather stay at home?

They'd be safer there. Although domestic partners are by far the biggest perpetrators of violence against women, so perhaps not.

They should, but they have to leave the house to do shopping and the school run.

Yep. Just go back to sleep, UK. Worry about it when it happens to you (which is unlikely so just don't worry about it). Besides, it's not like these incidents are on the rise or anything.
 
My loved ones of the female persuasion carry pepper spray when they might be in sketch areas. I challenge the stupid plods to try do anything after a self defence situation, gods forbid
