Massive DSL price cuts

y was this article even published on this forum? we already know most of the information that was in it..
And with that headline with telkom's sign!!!
shame on u rpm for getting our hopes up!! :p

At least through all the depressing articles there is some humour around - funny one.:D

i dont think it was really humour, i think it was like when your house burn down and a little joke comes out, or all you can do is laugh, its so f****d up you actually laugh. hehe

Lol

It's just a matter of perspective people.

Imagine how much worse this would be if Telkom did not infact lower their ADSL line rentals as from 1st August

I can just read the headlines: Telkom reminds ICASA that the South African ICT environment is different to those in other countries. Our infrastructure and penetration rates are much lower - both in terms of real numbers and quality of service (but I doubt they'd mention that  ) and here we have fixed-line directly competing with wireless service providers so in the big scheme, Telkom is a small fish and shouldn't be compared to developments in a great big ocean - keep it real in the little pond called South Africa :D

Better yet, they insist on asking for more time to roll out the R30Bn upgrade to a NGN and then look at the massive improvement in quality and option of service they'll be able to provide.

Oh, and about the massive profits made while claiming to constantly maintaining and upgrading service (which obviously was a load of PR spin, as evidenced by the slow ADSL speeds, line quality issues, installation backlog, inability to distinguish between expensive international vs local bandwidth, etc.) - that's water under the bridge :(

ICASA is sick for letting us think the regulations will be published on Monday.

can I ask the mods, please, do not post articles with title like "Massive DSL price cuts" but rather "Massive DSL price cuts overseas"! I almost had a heart attack!
