Matrix 4 gets a release date

The color grading is also very neutral in this vs the green tint of the earlier movies. Was obviously a conscious choice to do this, but for me it comes across as 'too normal'. The grading of the earlier movies added to the atmosphere.

Sati did this at the end of Revolutions. What would the green tint signify this time around?

Oh and who was complaining about insects? Did not see Animatrix.

Who was complaining about silly? Did not play Path of Neo.

Wasn't bad. A bit cringe in some parts but the previous movies was as well.

Guessing some people just have over hype and crazy expectations.

Actually I went in with nothing and left with even less.

However, being distracted by movie and it being the matrix; up too the point where its flaws as movie disappears is ironic. Don't you think?

This is why I said as a matrix story it is simply an expansion / whatifs and for that is ok for what it does even though not great at times, but as a movie and when you look at how it was put together not so much. But now we have #365.

2:59 mins of unprepared shooting from the hip while being put on the spot?

Comes of as another corporate uneasy push as for example Carrie doesn't look if she really wanted to do that. Actually play this in the background to make it better...

Put it on pause with 1h30min left and I’m not sure if I’ll bother going back to finish it.

This comment is maybe this is a sign of how bad movies have become generally?

When a sequel to one of the best sci-fi movies comes out & people are surprised when other people have high expectations, and are even being finger pointy about it....that's not a good sign. Because people should rightly have high expectations for things they really like & that were really good. Same with the new Alien movies... reasonable to have high expectations but the movies kinda sucked. Same with the new Star Trek movies. It's people's expectations that are the issue right, not the lackluster filmmaking?

Agree with your post, but not this. I think the modern ST movies were a fair effort, after a few viewings I've come to appreciate them.

A bit of both I think. Its inevitable to go in expecting the bullet time wow factor like the first time drug hit that you're never going to experience again.

No one has praised M4 as a masterpiece and acknowledged its flaws, bit its definitely not T:Dark Fate bad and actually adds some new layers.

There's no denying everyone thought this franchise was 100% completely dead but they've actually breathed some life into it, which in itself is quite an achievement.

You should have a certain expectation for film, music and art but you should also not want creators creating your fantasy expectations. That's what sell-outs do. I get it, the movie wasn't as aww inspiring as the first matrix but it is their story. Take it or leave it. Move on with your life if you don't like the story because it didn't hold up to your personal fantasy built up over the last 20 years.

This is the reason why Valve is scared to create HL3. And for as long as they're in that state of mind they really shouldn't.
