It'll go to court for the next 10 years.

EDIT: and a sane judge would not throw a court order to stop the tolling while we wait for the court cases.

We can only hope that the anc supporters see how they are being screwed. But ANC already told them taxi = free... they don't see the bigger picture (everything is going cost more now)

Zuma is clearly taking advantage of the current confusion in the ranks of COSATU. Vavi is anti-ANC crap like this, and the current leader is pro-ANC and believes that they can do no wrong.

Getting the law signed off is meaningless as the poor don't even know what that means. The final question will be will they flip the switch or not. I strongly suspect that they are getting everything in place to turn on the tolls shortly after the election. The decision will be delayed until then.

I'm pretty sure that OUTA could take that to court too. Why should a taxi be free? They aren't public transport.

If they took the issue of taxi = free to court, they'd be in the boot of car parked outside montecasino in no time.

I would also like to see this battle finally fought on the streets and under the gantries, but the court action is far from over, expect several more court cases before this is done.

I wonder if there has been hassles getting loans to cover the monthly costs till elections?

The way to solve this whole thing is to ensure that the taxis pay etolls.

After that the etolling will stop quickly.

I don't see any difference between a taxi and a private vehicle lift-club.

( except the lift-club vehicle will be licenced, have a licenced driver etc etc ).

A private vehicle lift club must obey the rules of the road and has no muscle against government.
The taxis mob on the other hand.....
