Sanral's probably thinking a Dec start date will mean less volumes initially so they can ramp up their systems for when everyone gets back from holidays.

If they go live in December, it is going to be interesting. Most people will use the highways on their way to their holiday destination. How will they be able to know what they're bill is and pay it in 7 days when they are out of Gauteng?

Eyewitness News
Breaking News: Transport Minister Dipuo Peters announces e-tolls will be launched on 3 December 2013 in Gauteng.

The ANC's Xmas gift to you!

They need more money to waste, the 30 or so billion last year was not enough gravy.

lol, so move it one day later just because OUTA said it would start on the 2nd December! :D

I dont use the etoll roads, but this December is going to be interesting in Gauteng... :D

They will try and use December to crack down on a smaller number of people. You can bet money the number of Metro checkpoints will increase and then the Sanral enforcement cars will appear. Like I suggested earlier - if you see a car pulled over by them, stop, get out and ask if everything is ok. Stay friendly and polite. But if about 4 drivers all pull over, they will feel a bit self-concious.

I'm not planning to make this easy for them, and neither should you.

What would be the purpose?
