So woke up early this morning for this fight. Very disappointed to see it end in so much controversy!

What are your thoughts?

If you missed it, this is what happened:

* Ortiz has Mayweather against the ropes in the 4th Round and landed a few punches, but then the dumbass goes and headbutts Mayweather.
* The referee immediately stops the fight and deducts a point from Ortiz and gives him a very stern warning.
* Ortiz apologizes profusely to Mayweather and when the referee starts the fight again he goes and gives Mayweather a hug to say sorry again.
* As Ortiz goes back into position and before he even manages to put up his hands again Mayweather slaps him with a sneaky(cheap shot) left hook, followed by a MASSIVE right. Sending Ortiz tumbling to the floor and taking a 10-count. Game Over!

So I am not a fan of either fighters but they both contributed to the controversy in which this fight ended. Ortiz should never have headbutted Mayweather but in turn Mayweather did take a bit of a cheap shot to win the fight. I also feel Ortiz was stupid to go and give hugs in a bloody boxing match and he forgot the first rule of boxing. Always protect yourself
So Mayweather really didn't do anything wrong because the referee did say "Fight" and Ortiz was trying to get a date. But it was a clear cheap shot from Mayweather.

The controversy did not end there because when the HBO Interviewer confronted Mayweather regarding the way he won the fight it ended with almost another fight. Mayweather telling the interviewer that he's always slating him, that he knows nothing about boxing and should be fired by HBO. The interviewer in turn told Mayweather that he wishes he was 50 years younger so he could kick Mayweather's arse.

I've said it before and I will say it again. There is only one fight left to fight: And that is:

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao

But looks like Mayweather is scared big time of Pacman.

Here is a video of the KO: (Sorry for quality - all other videos on Youtube have been removed by HBO)

And then a video of Mayweather vs Interviewer:

Shocking stuff. Ortiz was stupid though he should have said sorry and moved on. He should never have left his guard down.

Rematch for sure, ortiz can feel hard done by but he should have protected himself.

The pacman is so busy suing mayweather i cannot see how the fight can ever take place.

From what I could gather by staunch Mayweather fans is that the interviewer (Larry) has always had something against Mayweather and that is also why the two had some exchange of words after the fight. I think the interviewer asked what everybody was thinking and Floyd stripped his moer! Haha

Never let your guard down! Too much apologizing by Ortiz for illegally-headbutting Mayweather, he fell asleep thinking this was some practice match.

This is why Mayweather is a true technician and undefeated, he was aware of what was going on.

Ortiz got what he deserved. Broke the rules of boxing with the head butt!! Mayweather actions, well within the rules of boxing but perhaps not within the spirit of the sport (what spirit).

Seems to be part of the show. Perhaps a mega million pay per view rematch is on the cards soon...

Too much controversy,but that's boxing !!!

that looks rigged. Mayweather is a showman and controversial and i would not put it pass him to have a fight rigged for some or other reason.

Mayweather is trash. He beat his common-law wife and is clearly running scared from the Pacman.

Saying that, Ortiz was very silly. One can't blame Mayweather for taking advantage of the situation - catching Ortiz off-guard - but the guy is as classless as they come, both inside and outside the ring.

And yes, Larry - the post fight interviewer - has always had a ''thing'' for Mayweather but if you have noticed, Mayweather gets booed in the US by American fans. Nobody likes him. He is arrogant, classless and has been avoiding one of the greatest boxers in boxing history. I just pray that if he ever does sack up and fight Pacquiao, Pacquiao destroys him.

I would be quite pissed off if I had paid to watch that fight (HBO PPV).

Mayweather should have played fair, he got in his first punch and he knew he suckered Ortiz, but that doesnt mean he should have knocked the guy out with the second punch.

He took the easy win and ran with the cash.

Why would Pacquiao want to fight this guy given how he won this one?

All he has to do now is retire.

A comeback fight sometime down the line will get him millions and millions.

I hope boxing fans dont pay to watch him fight going forward (only exception would be a Pacquiao fight). He wasted peoples money with that cheap win.

They will pay. he is a draw card no matter what people think of him. If he puts bums on seats and money in pockets then he will be paid to fight.

With boxers these days earning millions doesn't seem to erase their innate stupidity when it comes to money matters. Very few boxers are able to retire on the money they earned during their fighting careers. Surround yourself with sharks and sooner or later they'll take a big bite out of you.

They just have to pretend to retire to make a fortune in a comeback fight. Business is business and money talks.
