Mbeki gets R90 million security wall

And you can proof that there is a threat to his life? The chance of getting sniped outside of SA, is as good or better than being attacked at his home. He will be more vulnerable while traveling. Thats always the weakest part of any security. Anything can happen while in transit.

He's out of country more than in country. So it must a be a mobile wall too, hence the expense.

My claim was pure speculation on the possible reasons for the wall
surely you can read this!

Skeptik,

In your post where you refer to the president as dwarf and flake, and mentioned in passing that a bombing victim's alcoholic husband may have been responsible for her injuries, you asked for somebody to be less insulting in their responses. I think that this is a good idea, you hypocrit. :D

chiskop
You're forgetting the important thing. I'm not talking about any forumite. That's my opinion of our elusive height-challenged President. If you disagree, lets have a poll (*takes a bet*).

And BTW, it's spelt "hypocrite". Remember that for the next time you want to insult a fellow forum member.:D

*grin* If it keeps him, then it might just be worth it

just a thort:

old NAT government - POSSIBLY disliked by the majority, put up no wall.
new ANC government - POSSIBLY disliked by the minority, put up a wall.

logical?

unless due to non-delivery, the majority are going to get severly pissed off, OR one of ol'bring me my machine gun's followers will take him out!

OH MY GOSH PEOPLE

you are all missing a very important point here

the most important one so far... the extremly sad state of our news media.

To publish an article like that - all hype and speculation without one credible source is despicable and an assualt on our democracy

i despair

Government can blame themselves. The story is out there, we are all talking about it, the press are asking for comment --- and where are the people who can tell us.????
On lunch probably :D

Wall complete with mozzie zapper, curtains, and air con, for those hot nights.

Spokesperson Lucky Mochalibane told Sapa a statement would be sent later on Tuesday, but this did not materialise. Efforts to reach him by late afternoon were fruitless.

"This issue raises several questions about the president's attitude towards ordinary citizens of this country."

Mulder said numerous requests by his party for private citizens' security expenses to be tax deductible had fallen on deaf ears.

"If the government is prepared to spend such amounts on a wall, at the same time, it is sending out a serious message of double standards and an insensitivity for the people's problems."

Im going to have to see this wall one day... or mebbe thats whats so cool about it... it has stealth technology?

Maybe the wall comes with a free aircraft carrier?
