Mbeki gets R90 million security wall

Well it seems that there is no wall being built, just routine maintenance.
Two scenarios
SCENARIO ONE
Cobus Claasen, Beeld's reporter, probably had to go out to The Bryntirion Estate, and most probably to the Presidential Guest House to cover a story. He probably wandered over to the President's house, saw some guys digging and assumed they were laying the foundations for a wall, he then asked some of the contracted workers who sold him the story that while they were sworn to secrecy, they were waiting for a wall to come from outside the country, and that it would cost ninety million rand. Claasen then rushed over to his office and without checking any of the facts wrote this utterly outrageous story, using the old adage to never let the facts stand in the way of a good story
SCENARIO TWO
Cobus Claasen covers the story at the Presidential Guest House and mentions to his editor that he noticed some kind of construction work at the President's house. The editor sees the opportunity and uses it to construct a completely outrageous story, as propoganda to sully the name of the President and our Government
BTW - still no follow up story from BEELD, newspapers and journalists like this should be held accountable for irresponsible reporting

I have dual citizenship, so no he isn't.
You have dual citizenship, meaning that you are a citizen of South Africa, and therefore Thabo Mbeki is your President.

This seems like an odd tangent. The simple fact is that he is our president and that he is mostly useless.

It was in response to BM's post that said Thabo Mbeki is not his President, and I was just trying to point out to him that he is
I know, I saw his post and thought I would add my 2c to this pointless tangent. I quoted your post because it was most convenient.
Doesn't mean I can't hate the dumb ****er. And I will not acknowledge his presidency

You are more than welcome to criticise, even hate the President, that is your democratic right, but he is the President of this country, and as long as you live in this country as a citizen, he is your President. You must acknowledge his Presidency as he was democratically elected as President in Parliament. He is my President, he is your President, little you can do to change that

Unfortunately you are not in the position to not acknowledge his presidency. You may really not like it but that is called tough. He is your president whilst you reside in this country like it or not...
Why this is fun
...He is not your preferred candidate but in that regard honestly who would be. I could think of nothing worse than Leon being president...

Mbeki is THE President. If you choose him to be YOUR president - then that is your choice. He is The President of South Africa, - NOT - The President of the South African People
He was Elected to manage the Affairs of the South African people, - NOT - manage the people.
Mbeki ANSWERS to the public - NOT - the public answer to Mbeki.

Can you please explain the distinction between being the President of South Africa and the President of South African People?

If Mbeki is the President of South Africa and South Africa is your country then he is the president of your country which means he is the president of you as well.
He doesn't own/control/run you but he is your president. It's not a difficult concept is it?

He works for the people - not the other way around. IOW he is supposed to serve the people and address their needs.

The President of South Africa manages the country and focuses on what is good for the country.
"The President of the South African people" manages the people and their actions. I relate the analogy is to Tribalism..
In a tribe, the general members listen to the Elders/Chief/President and do as the Elders say.
In a Democracy, the the president is led by the members and follows democratically elected actions. The President in a democracy has to account to the public WHY such actions are taken and has to justify all his decisions
