Hi everyone..
I think it's about time i upgrade my certificates (and seems like the upgrade exams expire in july).

I use to be able to get the information clearly on the Microsoft site, but now it's seems like most of the info is 2012 related.

So if i understand correctly i need to write 3 exams:

Exam 70-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring
Exam 70-649: TS: Upgrading your MCSE on Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008, Technology Specialist
Exam 70-647: PRO: Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator

70-649 being a really hard one.
I was thinking i should start with 70-680 then 647 and then 649.

any thoughts?if i start with 649 first will i get certified as something?the whole enterprise admin/server admin is a bit confusing....

Edit : I currently have MCSE 2003

Hi There

I upgraded from MCSE2003 to MCITP/MCSA 2008 and now I need I think another 2 exams to be MCSE 2008... But you are right it is very confusing at the moment.
Yes as far as I know once you pass 649 and any other exam you will then be MCTS or If you pass any 2 exams from the 3 mentioned above you will then be MCTS certified. But both the MCITP and MCTS are now being replaced with the MCSA/MCSE certifications but I think even if the MCTS and MCITP are being replaced it still looks good on a CV.

Why don't you go onto the Mcp site and us the certificate planner.

do you have a link?

Edit:i found it.

I wrote 70-640 70-646 and 70-648. The 648 is basically the 640 and 642 in one go. But I already wrote that one few months before actually trying for the MCSA 2008

now i am even more confused!!!
so you mcse 2003?like me....why not go the route i typed above?

I just wanted to take advantage of the upgrade paths before they end. MCSA is Solutions Administrator Not like the old MCSA 2003. The new naming is confusing I know.

so if i just write 70-648, i become MCSA 2008?
what will i need to write after to become MCTS?
seems like i should actually be aiming for MCTS

ahhhh....never mind.

MCITP: Enterprise Administrator thats what i want....

No to become MCSA 2008 you need to write the 646 and 648 just those 2 exams, As far as I know any 2 exams in this range will make you MCTS and the 648 is 2 exams in one (640 and 642) I think that will make you MCTS alone. But follow the cert planner also speak to the online help, i spoke to a guy there he was very helpful.
