I am having huge issues with Vodacom on the billing for my data bundle and I hope someone here can give me some advice.

Responding to an SMS from Vodacom notifying me of unusual bandwidth usage I gave the call center a call. I was advised that I am being billed out of bundle rates and that I owed thousands - but the consultant then confirmed that according to his system I still have 1.2 Gig of my data bundle available.

I seem unable to get a clear indication from them as to my data usage at any one point making it almost impossible to manage my account. Its been over a week and I have had no response.

Two months ago I requested to switch to their new Advance package options to pay the same rate when out of bundle but despite receiving SMS's confirming the change, I have now also been told taht the changes were never effected.

Can anyone suggest how to measure my own bandwidth usage so I can check the bill?

Its gets a bit tricky 'monitoring' your Data Bundle, as Contract Data Bundles tend to be a bit delayed (not sure how long that delay is these days).

I usually advised my (contract) customers to send the message MM to 31050 the FOLLOWING morning before they start using their 3G for that day. Thus allowing the System time to update their stats.

Hi

Please Pm me your number that you logged the call under.

NetMeter really is more accurate than the Vodafone dashboard. It's a freebie for which you can easily google, very small download and footprint.

I use MDMA, whih has the added advantage of using less resources than VMC

If I check my data usage on the website I see something labelled 'GBS1'. Anyone know what that is? The initial amount is '10 mins' and usage reports '7 mins'.

That's your "Gift Box".

What is the cost associated with this?

When Sending "MM" to 31050 to check data usage, do you have to remove it from the Modem and do it from a phone?

Thanks for all the suggestions but I suppose it means nothing if Vodacom is still not contacting me directly or via Hello Peter where i also complained.

Thanks to user VodacomData who has offered to help. I have sent him the details and hope to get some kind of help now.

The payment for this month has now bounced - I suppose vodacom will at last call me when they try to collect the money they say i owe them (SARCASM incase Vodacom missed it)
