Hey,

Does anyone own one of these as I would like to know if they support the 3D SBS formats that are released?

I know the MED500X2 and I suspect that the 450X2 would as well seeing as it is a later model.

Have you considered a more recent android media player like the MXIII from AVSupply. I think it can play 3D SBS files but just send a PM to AVSupply to confirm.

I believe that Mede8er is also working on new android models based on the new Realtek RTD1195 media processor. The Realtek RTD1186 is only a single core 750MHz processor while the latest S802 Amlogic processor is a quad core A9 processor running at close to 2GHz i.e. substantially faster. In addition to playback of most video formats the media player comes preloaded with apps for Netflix, free Hulu for android, Hulu Plus, YouTube, XBMC (1channel, ProjectFreeTV, Icefilms, Mashup, Navi-X, SportsDevil, 300 live TV channels (vdubt25)) and much, much more. There are also many different apps and services available that you can use to stream live sport if required. Post again if you want any more information.

Here are a few print and video reviews if you are interested ...

After getting a NAS I set out on a quest to find the perfect media player and on my journey I did indeed purchase a 450X2s a few weeks back. Played around with it for a weekend and gave up in frustration. It went back to DionWired for a full refund. My main issues were a glacially slow interface, inconsistent behaviour (would lose network shares every now and then for example), the upscaling of SD content was horrible... the whole experience just left me cold.

Anyways, I have to agree with Yotch. I now own a DroidTV MX3 and couldn't be happier. Fast, well designed interface (XBMC on Android), good picture quality (not quite up to my Sony S790 standard, but decent), awesome local support from AV Supply... so if you haven't made the purchase I recommend you check one out.

I'm sold on the DroidTV MX3. This beats the Mede8er hands down & has the beauty of Android so you can run all the apps to the big screen. Will it see a 4TB external hardrive connected?

ask this in the Droid thread

I don't have any 4TB hard drives myself but several customers who are using devices based on the same S802 processor claim to be using 4TB WD external 3.5" drives successfully. Try to send AVSupply a PM as he may have practical experience with a 4TB drive.

If you do encounter any problems this android app may also help.
