Try running the display setup wizard in Media Center.

There should also be the option in the Nvidia utility to adjust the screen size. The utility has sliders to adjust the screen size. I had the 8400GS, and could adjust it in this manner. I used a DVI to HDMI adapter to connect my TV.

EDIT: It could be that you need to download and install the Nvidia system tools (control panel) seperately from the drivers. There are links to additional software on the nvidia site.

Thats really odd - does your LCD have VGA, maybe you can try that?

I recall on the RC version I had to hack my registry to get the supported res.

Yup, it has VGA and it works perfectly on the VGA connection. But I'm using the VGA connection for my Xbox.

Windows 7 MCE, or just running windows 7 as a media media center has been horrific for me, I get a BSOD sometimes when I resume from sleep and launch the tuner.

Linux was stable for years and now that my new tuner only has windows support (linux support soon)I'm forced to use 7, even with my old tuner Vista gave me the same BSODs.

Sounds like a driver problem, not a MS problem.

yep, but that's the thing, why does a 3rd party driver bring down the entire OS? very weak, Linux is far more robust as is OSX.
I'm stuck with the driver until the maker acknowledges it causes crashes.

Guess that's why the manufacturers are supporting them. :)

Windows 7 with Media Browser for me, just ordered my new chassis today... Thermaltake DH103 :D

A couple of guys here are recommending Win 7 MCE. I tried it out last night, but it's not really that good? I installed Media Browser as well.

With the standard Win 7 MCE it shows a movie for every file you have. So if you have a movie which has 2 parts, it show a duplicate movie. I also can't find where to update movie details in the standard MCE?

Media Browser sorts out the problem with duplicate files, but I don't like the views. The poster view is ok, but it's all squares, so it squashes the movie poster a bit. It also doesn't update all the movie info, only some. I can't find a more manual way of doing it?

There's a couple of other minor issues I have with it, but nothing serious. It just doesn't come close to something like MediaPortal. Or am I missing something here?

Going to try out XMBC tonight.

Media Browser takes a little tweaking, I use Meta Browser to update covers, info etc.
