Medical aid

Missed the last 2 replies, sorry.

Proxilin, I was on discovery last year and decided to go with them again. Better to be covered :P

Nothing wrong with Keycare, especially when starting out.

Yup, I also used Keycare when I went off my parent's medical aid. I don't go to doctors often so Keycare was perfect.

Have full medical now though :)

Some of the medial aid scheme offer plans whereby you pay based on your salary, but you have to use their network. I think Discovery's one is called KeyCare or Key something. A few years ago when I was your age and earing a salary similar to your I was on Liberty's offering which cost me a few hundred Rand a month. It did its job for the few year that I was on it. My doctor was part of their network so they paid for that, they paid for most of my glasses (I had to pay for the tint) but I never needed to use the hospital benefit.

+1, momentum has one called the ingwe option.

You looking at around R768.

So I went with Discovery. I was told I need to make the payment for May myself, they'll debit from June. I made the payment Friday. They just took the amount from my bank. Everyone seems to be closed on Sundays so I can't get this sorted. How friggen awesome is that??

I make a point to keep sufficient funds in my account to cover double payment errors that might slip in. It is a pity that banks do not allow corrections to be made via internet banking.

Bump. I've been on keycare since I started this thread. Considering moving to a different plan/medical aid.

What do you guys suggest? I can afford about 2k a month now.

25, still overweight, non smoker, I go to gym every now and then. I have a skin disorder that I have to pay R400 for a tube of cream that lasts a few days so something that'll cover that would be nice

Do you still earn a pittance?

depending on your skin condition, you may find that not even classic comp will give you a benefit for it
It's a bacterial infection. It's also not necessary as I can pay for it without the medical aid
