Hi All,

For those who may be interested, we have just released various new firmware versions on our website for Mega 100WR and Mega 100WR2 router.

The downloads can be found at : http://www.telkomphones.co.za//mega100.htm and then clicking on the link for the relevent version of router that you have.

Regards

Great! But the CLI seems to have been disabled in the latest firmware. Telnetting to the router takes me directly to the busybox shell. Is there any way to get into the CLI? (I understand the web interface is pretty comprehensive, but it's very tedious to add more than a few static routes...)

Broadcom, which version are you experiencing this in ? (Also, are you meaning the WR or the WR2 ?)

I downloaded them yesterday.
The new one which makes my router a Mega 105 basically :)

I cant setup half bridge now though :(

It's the WR2, I upgraded to from 99.70.1 to 99.70.4r.

~I'm more stuck than I originally thought, because I can't modify my static routing table at all (the routes that were there before the firmware upgrade). They aren't displayed on the web interface under Routing > Static Routes, but are displayed on Routing > Routing Table - which isn't editable! And I can't get into the cli. Help!

when i extract FW 99.70.2n.zip I get a CRC check fail:

WinRar said:
! C :/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop/FW 99.70.2n.zip: CRC failed in tempfirmware/psp_temp_ext_kernel.bin. The file is corrupt

Anyone know if its still safe to update?
Also, does this make half-bridging work for this router? (2C Telecoms representative on this forum did once state that they were working on a firmware update which would allow half-bridging -- is this it?)

My zip file matches the server's (tried this on two cache-independent pc's). Error on their part? or should I disregard and flash anyway? Anyone tested?...

I never got a CRC error when I extracted it.

Hi Broadcom & PsyClown ,

Broadcom : Try looking under /sbin ... ;) We do suggest a "default reset" before upgrading though, and it never hurts to do one afterwards for good measure .... To transfer your settings, save the router's config , and re-load it after upgrading...

PcyClown : To my knowledge, there has never been an issue with setting up the router in Half-Bridge mode .. infact, it comes setup like that to start with ( Give it a try after a default reset ) ... The issue was with multiple connections using the same PVC settings ..... and that should now be a thing of the past... anyhow , on this router, add a new connection - select "bridge" , "enable " sharing , and select 8;35 ..... should work without any issues.

regards,

uhh? My question remains unanswered?
2C Telecoms: There IS a problem with 'FW 99.70.2n.zip' for Mega100WR hosted on your site - one of the files in the archive is corrupt and won't extract.

Sorry fragtion_,

I try to limit my comments to those that could actually be helpfull, and I have no idea as to why you have this problem ...
It works on all of my PC's, and PsyCLown doesn't seem to have a problem ... this leads me to think that the files are OK , and its perhaps somthing on your side ....

Perhaps you could try to use a different programme to unzip ....
I would also appriciate any feedback from other users ... do they have the same problem , etc.

Thanks for the fast reply

I have tried downloading this on my PC, asked a friend to download it, and also downloaded it straight from your web server onto my dedicated colo at MTNNS, neither worked. I've tried unzipping with Windows's shell unzip and it STOPS at around 70% with "file is corrupt can not continue". I then tried 7-zip and WinRar and with both of those got a CRC checksum fail.

The file is definitely corrupt, and it's corrupt on your webserver's side. Could you please clear your cache and redownload it from that address and check for yourself.
If anybody else reading this could please also check and confirm? The URL is http://www.telkomphones.co.za//firmware/mega 100wr/FW 99.70.2n.zip and I'm 100% certain its broken.

(ps. why should there be any reason for you to limit your comments? if people require support they should receive response, especially if something is broken and it's not their own mistake. You should appreciate such feedback, before an influx of other angry customers who disregarded the checksum fail flashed their router anyway come to you demanding a replacement.)

I downloaded both the files (99.70.2n.zip & 99.70.4r) yesterday and there is no problem with them.
I flashed my router and it worked perfectly. There must be a problem on your PC.

1 question. What is the difference between the 100WR2 and the 105WR?

Awesum/PsyClown could you please upload your 'tempfirmware/psp_temp_ext_kernel.bin' to ftp://ftp.uunet.co.za/pub/incoming for me, since it 'worked' for you guys?

For me, and everyone else who I asked to extract it, psp_temp_ext_kernel.bin inside FW 99.70.2n.zip is broken.
It does not extract out of the archive, which is identical to the version on the server.

I'm clearly doing something wrong. </sarcasm> So please help me? Or should I call 2c Telecoms help/support? Because the email addresses on the site return mail undelivered/address does not exist.

Hi 2C Telecoms

the file FW 99.70.2n.zip won't unzip for me either.

error messages point to a corrupt 'tempfirmware/psp_temp_ext_kernel.bin'
