Megsapp Feedback and Support Thread

Anyone else having connection issues today ? My connection rapidly connects/disconnects in a loop.

There doesn't seem to be one thread yet for general Megsapp user Feedback and Support so I started this thread.
Megsapp offers awesome call rates and data that doesn't expire but be prepared for the spam SMS's they will send every damn day..
I used Megsapp for a few months. Calls and data worked fine and the no expiry data helped when I traveled. The daily promo SMS messages were annoying, I had to block their short codes to keep my inbox usable. Support replied slowly but did fix a SIM issue after two days. It works if you want cheap rates and can tolerate the spam.

Thought I'd update as my experience with MegsApp has been poor - but its always been on the support side, i.e. when things go wrong.

We had a kid in hospital last week, which quickly depleted my wife's contract data - I was going to load data onto my vehicles sim and give that to her to use as her secondary sim, but noticed MegsApp now has a process for eSims.

I told her to give it a go, some minor hiccups (emails taking awhile to arrive, or not arriving at all (the actual eSim QR code)) , but - she managed to get online within an hour, and now has a MegsApp esim as her secondary sim. The support whatsapp line was also quite responsive.

So overall - a positive experience.

Touch wood, mine is still going and I got it in 2024.

e-SIM with 25GB non-expiring data.

Still worked fine last month and I transferred 5gb. When I wanted to transfer the remaining 2gb this month it was dead. Their stupid transfer limits on your own data you paid for is a joke.
When last was there a billable event on the sim in question?

I had 11 sims. 1 main sim which is not in a device with 150gb of non expiring data and 10 sims in various devices (GPS and stuff) I transferred data from the main sim to the others once a month. In Jan the main sim just died. the others are still alive

I see they now have a 100gb non expiring bundle for R1.5k lol no way on God's green earth I'd buy that.

To be fair to them I ordered one 50gb non expiring sim and they sent me 3 as a gift. So I didn't lose out on any data I paid for. But its annoying the sim died

I have a MegsApp SIM with non-expiring data that I've been using whenever I'm away from my WiFi. My fibre went down last week and have been using the mobile hotspot on my phone as a backup. All was going well and I've only used about 14GB in the last 4 days.

For the last three hours though, YouTube and WhatsApp won't load (get PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR). Everything else seems to be accessible. Is this MTN throttling/blocking? By design or some issue? (Midrand area)

Youtube also not working for me in Cape Town.
