I don't know if anybody else has tried to phone Memwiz in the last two days, but it seems to me as if the are closed.... and it seems for good(or maybe not).

The funny this is that is still received a pricelist update from them on Monday(26/03/07) and we still ordered some stock the same day for collection the next day.

When we tried to phone them the next day, there was no answer and we figured their phone might be busy or something, so I decided to go past there and just go pick up the stock.

So i get there and their doors are closed. I turned to the security guard to asks whats up and he tells me that the "Manager" was there the morning and them the guard to tell the EMPLOYEE'S that they don't need to come back!

Just to repeat that: "...that they don't need to come back! "

If anyone know what is up with them please tell me about it some that the rest of us can know too.

by the way, we have dealership at the Cape Town branch. I tried to phone the Jo'burg and the Durban branch as well and also no answer.

yes, we deal with them and it's all true! they have liquidized. i think they still owe our company some money. don't think we'll be getting it! it was all hush hush and quick!

Thats lousy. There was a time of consolidation a while back where a number of distributers closed or were bought by others. I hope it is not happening again. We don't use Memory Wizard but they have been around for a long time if I remember correctly.

rectron is miles above mustek

mustek had to do something everybody knows mecer is over price cheap rubbish

they charge more for cheap rubbish than ppl charge for quality goods

Thats just great, I ordered stuff on Monday, paid yesterday ... now I probably cannot get my money back

I was at the Cape Town branch of Mem Wiz today and its all shut down ppl inb the office next door said they liquidated so yeah they were a great bunch though now its back to lightedge and pinnacle. Pinacle is not bad though maybe I should try axis to.

Clearly the magick has gone

As I recall Mustek worked their way into Rectron when Rectron hit into a few probs and hopped of the JSE, as much as I am not a Mustek fan (or a CPU fan... or Heat Sink for that matter) - were was I.... ohhh yes, Mustek do have deep roots, and more branches, and lots of compost, mind you Rectron are not far behind, often get the Brave Sir Robin when something needs fixing

Mustek doesn't own Rectron (not completely in any case). Rectron is a publicly listed company, Mustek owns 30% of the shares in Rectron....

This was in the news, not too long ago.
