And I think this is a major cause of the young men crying out with their mass shootings in USA. All day today I have listned to radio telling me we are in a femicide crisis. When real men call in to point out that 17 out of every 20 murder victims are men. Without fail those calllers are shamed or side lined with "That is not the conversation we should be having" "Men are doing all the murdering so we focus on the perpetrators not the victims" "Every man is part of the problem" "Murderers look like normal people, like your friends" John Maytham (CapeTalk567) spends half an hour apologising for saying 75% of murder victims are male. The male bashing is non-stop.
Having now actually read this depressing fluff.... it does touch on a big truth. If a man has no realistically achievable positive goal.... why would he not keep himself busy with something less important while he waits for one to come along? On the other hand if you literally game all day every day you have an obvious problem.
To my mind it's not unemployment that causes too much game playing it's having no real reason to do anything else, you will need employment that actually matters to to the employee in order to motivate him..... in personal experience the moment life gets a proper trajectory then gaming becomes a complete non-priority. I have gone whole weekends playing one game and whole months never wanting to start one up.
Mostly these days I game simply to force my brain to switch off, hours of pattern flowing just to calm the waves when I can't even relax or focus enough to read something.
Basically men are being told they don't matter..... so they act as if they don't matter..... no rocket science there.
Gynocentrism on display. And people are not even aware of their bias, and yet claim that men have all of the privilege.
The MGTOW movement basically says take a low paying job, because the only reason you really want a high paying stressful job is to impress a woman. Without the need to bother about impressing women, take the least stressful job you can do.
So, guys aren't bothering to go to college or start businesses, because they know they won't have to provide for families or impress women with their wealth.

Well think about it, if a guy has little interest in money itself.... why would he bother to work too hard unless it's for a woman or because he loves the job? There has to be a REASON he does the job and money itself more often than not is just not good enough.
Then add a hostile work environment and in SA the glass ceiling you inevitably hit.... why over exert yourself?

Rietrot raises 1 useful point "men need to do something". Men can't "change women", we can only change ourselves. What we can learn from women, organizing in a circle is very good for talking, sharing information and planning forward. We need to get men into groups (suggested by GBM) so we can decide the way forward because things are not in a good place right now.
PS. Parliamentarians call on President to declare a national emergency on Femicide. They really think the 3/20 victims should be the focus. 17/20 victims did it to themselves???

Even if male on male violence is common, that doesn't mean that men don't deserve protection. Should an innocent man not be protected? Is an innocent man's life not worth anything?
Of course, from hashtags like #MenAreTrash, we know the truth. Feminists said no need to worry about #MenAreTrash unless you actually are a rapist or something, but now we see the truth. It has influenced public thought so that people only care about female lives.

Exactly (#killallmen was another winner) but the narrative is being spun loud and clear men are the problem and we need to start by fixing young boys so they don't be evil. Maybe they will tell the boys that all boys are born evil and must be fixed & changed to be acceptable members of society.

Another prevalent issue is that nobody likes to hear men complain. MRAs are routinely drowned out and prevented from speaking, simply because nobody wants to hear men speak about their problems.
Now, if I was being truly ironic, I'd say that this was because of entrenched patriarchal ideas that men don't complain, but instead just shut up and get the job done.

I worked at UCT and since the 1980's there has been a uneven accptance rules. Started for STEM, first 80 places go to top mark candidates then the next 20 places for the best female applicants. That way STEM was guarenteed at least 20% females in class.
This just on Youtube explains even better, agrees 100% with what you guys have said (except rietrot).

He has not proved anything. He has made a lot of posts about how his "friend" is paying out his backside, and how his wife is withholding visitation rights. There is his side, and then the truth. I have demonstrated how maintenance is based on a fair formula. If he is being treated unfairly, he should approach the courts for relief. Replacement of his bad attorney should be first order of business.
There's a university in the Netherlands that says it will not hire any men for a few years, to "even things out". I don't think it is a STEM university but I'm not sure.
