He was asking to be screwed in the courts by getting married in the first place.

How cute. The men have to hitch onto feminist talking points to make some kind of argument. How is placing blame on the seemingly incompetent attorney victim blaming? Zarnicate is the victim of poor legal counsel, and should seek better advise. No where did I say divorce rape is fine because he had a bad attorney.

Everything said in this thread about his predicament is pure speculation, and even most of his accounts about his friend are anecdotal, and hearsay.

What's wrong with fighting fire with fire?

How is placing blame on the seemingly incompetent attorney victim blaming? Zarnicate is the victim of poor legal counsel, and should seek better advise. No where did I say divorce rape is fine because he had a bad attorney.

There's little indication that Zarnicate had inadequate legal counsel. The fact that you're drawing these wild conclusions to justify your refusal to acknowledge his suffering, on the other hand, indicates motivated reasoning on your part.

Yeah, when someone gets onto a forum to talk about what they've personally suffered, while it's possible they might be talking BS, if you don't have good evidence to support such a claim you should rather keep your trap shut before you shoot your mouth off.

Personally, I don't think Zarnicate is lying about being shown a prison door and the like.

Personal testimony counts as evidence. That's why witnesses testifying in court is a thing. The fact that you're dismissing it out of hand is what proves your judgement is faulty.

No we just said that he deserved to get screwed because he chose a weak male lawyer who couldn't beat a legal system that was biased to the opposition. He should have had my lawyer, young woman working like a demon with 400 cases, never fought a case/took it to trial, she could only plead out. When I said I was innocent and I didn't want to cop to a reduced plea she didn't know what to do. SA Legal Aid for you.

Been through 3 good attorneys. The system is biased.

Rietrot raises 1 useful point "men need to do something". Men can't "change women", we can only change ourselves. What we can learn from women, organizing in a circle is very good for talking, sharing information and planning forward. PS. Parliamentarians call on President to declare a national emergency on Femicide. They really think the 3/20 victims should be the focus. 17/20 victims did it to themselves???

And this is the crux. Men should band together because obviously the women aren't going to do it. We should turn and force the focus on where it belongs. Not violence against women but violence against people. Instead of signing their one sided petition have our own one where we explicitly state that we are against the first for this reason and instead condemn violence against all people.

Right on. If it was a woman you'd hear no end to how the system is broken and needs to change. You won't hear a comment like "there is his side, and then the truth". It will automatically be deemed her side is the truth.

If maintenance is based on a fair formula is the women mostly getting the kids also a fair formula
