Metal CPU Cooler Mount? Help!

So I have an old CPU Cooler Lying around which I am about to install on a new build I'm putting together. My problem is that the mount which goes under the motherboard (which the cpu screw into) is solid metal. This means that if I were to install the cooler, I would have this metal constantly in contact with the bottom of my motherboard. Is this Safe?? Can this short the board?

Ya, I bought a CPU with a cooler but the guy didn't give me a backplate. So I used some nuts instead. I was also concerned that they were metal and across some wires on the board, and that they would short it, but all good so far!
 
Got insulation tape (black electrical tape, cheap like R5), just "isolate" the back plate with the tape (evenly and not too thick) and presto no chance of short.

lol thanks guys - your bill will unfortunatley not be paid as i am in college and have about R500.00 to my name rofl
