Hi all.

Getting run around by MFN... via my ISP, t's for me to proof they not providing the contracted service... not for them it seems to check their own systems... I've been defending them in town but now I'm getting g$@tv0l.

First my download speed was perfect, but upload went down to 25%... they kept demanding I check all my settings, reset my systems... well if download was fine. sort proofs that my side (equipment, settings, ONT) and the actual fiber link to the PoP was good.

This afternoon the down dropped to 5Mbps and up is now at 10Mbps. ping has gone from 10 ms to 200ms.

This is a 500/500 service.
I've heard that others in town is having problems.
Wondering if anyone north/south of me is having similar problems.

It is a known issue and MFN is aware of it

Who is your ISP? They are your best bet to get feedback for resolution.

Seems to be capacity issues on some their NLDs. We're seeing it all the way up to some of the Northern Cape areas. Thing is they give ISPs the run around with regards to tickets, and close tickets if their desired "results" aren't provided.

Got some feedback today. 2 protected circuits are down with no failover. Traffic routed over backup link via JHB to CPT.

seems the ISP needs to maybe get together and go as a team to MFN... making it a customers problem to proof there is something wrong when we ourself pickup via this forum that it's actually across various ISP at the FNO is not on.

It's not the first time either. And I imagine it won't be the last.

Coming from Gauteng Openserve to Eastern Cape MFN, I can say with certainty, Openserve is rock solid in stability and worth that extra money.
