guess so, but could always come back if I dont like it, but I want to know if AFTER cancelling with AFH its still 30 days for the Fibre line to be released.
thats insane! or is it just metrofibre.
Regarding the 30 days, I'm sure its the same as all FNO's. You have to give 30 days notice but you can tell them to release the line at any time, you just pay for 2 ISP's during the changeover if you can't wait. Good luck trying to get an answer from Vox.

its really weird tho, just asked AFH told me it shows cancelled from their side,
but VOX cant pick it up on their end, whats going on here? Metrofibre enforcing cool off periods?
Vox needs to contact Metrofibre to get it sorted out. They are your ISP now and need to do these things for you. There's no cool off period.

is Vox not that great? is it a big downgrade? what about Metrofibre direct as my ISP at they better than AFH?
learning loads here
Sorry, can't comment, I only choose ISP's that have a presence here (CI, WebSquad and AH) and that has been AH for the last 6 years. If I have an issue, I PM @AfriNatic and he handles the issue whatever it is without making me bang my head against a brick wall that usually happens if you deal with normal "support".

fair enough, appreciate the honestly.
will see how it goes with metrofibre and AFH, did PM them to see if they can help me, 1st agent didnt say anything about "early fiber release" now I have to ask again.

Metrofibre has a 30 days cancellation term. After you cancel we submit the cancellation but the line is still technically active with Afrihost as we pay the 30 days line rental to the FNO.

The correct procedure is for the new ISP to submit a repair order. The order will be looked at by the Metrofibre repair order team and request an Early release with us which we usually approve. Then the repair order gets approved and pushed to the new ISP's pending order queue which they need to accept then.

I assume the people at Vox don't know this hence they are saying it's still active with another ISP.

I will request and early release for you now.

thank you, strange Vox didnt know this but I guess you learn something new everyday,
hopefully it gets released tomarrow without problems,

but im still confused, when you cancel with the ISP isnt it the same as cancelling with the FNO? why would you need to do it twice?
and why the enforced cool down period? or is this a standard thing with the ISP's these days? almost like the Telkom of old.

and I did ask Metrofibre for help first, they told me to speak to afrihost, so round and round in circles I go.

MetroFibre and other FNO's have a 30 day notice. When you submit the cancellation with us we haven't submitted the cancellation with the FNO yet. We do that by API usually at the end of the month. This means the 30 days with the FNO start then. With other ISP's they require a full calendar month's notice for cancellation and it's because of this reason so a manual cancellation can be loaded with the FNO.

For us, this process is a bit too tedious and we have API setups for these order changes.

@AfriNatic I hate to be the guy asking the same question every time I ping you, but I gotta know if there's any info about the 50/50 package. The email we got only mentions the R100 increase, but no speed changes. I'd hate to be paying R797 for 50/50 when MFN Direct is R799 for 250/250..

I will drop the info as soon as I know more. I promise.

Thank you.

The 50Mbps stays as is bar the price increase.

The new 250/250Mbps package will replace the 100Mbps package at the same price. We have disabled upgrades, downgrades and new signups for the 100Mbps package while our Dev team works on the 250Mbps package.

So it will be 20, 50, 250, 400, 500 and 1000?

..So prices will be
20/20 @ R497
50/50 Old Price: R697 New Price: R797
250/250 @ R897

This is quite confusing when MFN direct 20/20 is R400, 250/250 is R800.. they don't even offer the 50/50 on direct..

Sigh, I don't want to leave Afrihost when MFN's customer support is garbage, but it's hard going back to 50/50 and also paying an extra R100.. and if I decide to spend another R100, I can get 250/250?!

Might try it for a month or two..
