Which ISP are you using on the MFN Network?

Just got an increase email from my ISP on MFN:

From 1 Dec 2021:
View attachment 1174334

The email only says that they've not increased prices in a long time (Covid-19 blah-blah).
MFN doubled the rate from 1 June 2021 and introduced the 300/300.
The 200 & 300 prices were introduced/reduced/made competitive.

Thinking of changing ISP to avoid price increase.

Is this MFN increasing - in which case all ISP will also increase and so no point in changing
or
Is the increase just this specific ISP?

Thanks in advance for any feedback/advice.

Seems like an ISP side of things. We haven't had any notice of any price increases from Metrofibre since we have been on the MFN network.

Webafrica should have sent you the router already, as usual, sleeping on the job. Yes you would have to call them again and follow up.

You should speak to WebAfrica, they should have sent you a router, but you do only have a Termination Point so far, Metrofibre still need to get the go ahead from WebAfrica to install the ONT and do some final checks, plug in the router and boom, you're connected.

Why on gods-green-earth did they not do it at the same time?

They can but it really depends on the time, team and area. Sometimes the ONT guys are around and are happy to active and check it all at once. Sometimes you will only get the Termination Point team, which of course will need to send the activation and ONT team.

Sometimes you also only get the TP and then have to wait on the road to be connected to the circuit and go live, only then will they come back and do the ONT drop and activation. I assume this is all because they want to actually test it from ONT to the POP properly, so if there is any POP issue, Manhole problem they wont do the ONT activation.

In my case there was only one team that did my install from the curb to TP in the house and ONT on the same day. I plugged in the router that was already delivered and I let the ISP know the install was finished and the next morning it was activated and online.

Yup that is how it is meant to be and has been for quite a few of our installs too. But we do notice that sometimes the actual ONT and activation team is running around and not always there with the Installation guys.

In our block they had one team that ran the conduit. Then a separate team that pulled the cable outside the units. After that then they installed the TP units and did testing on the last 2 days. I'm not too sure what the next step is but all I know is I'm that much closer

Metro Centurion and surrounds downs since about 8am

With them through CI. The amount of time I get disconnects per day is absolutely ridiculous. About 6-12 times a day for 30 seconds up to 2 minutes.

It is very irritating and frustrating.
