Which ISP are you using on the MFN Network?

Yes. I rebooted the router and ONT.
I have a alcatel lucent fibre router/ont in 1. The fibre is owned by metrofibre an they are my isp also. Yesterday my internet light went on and off. So when i rebooted the router/ont it didn't come back on again. The Link and Auth light is still on as normal. So now they want to send a tech out.

Fibre has been off today for 3 weeks. I've had a contractor as well as a Metro Fibre technician here to see what's going on. The contractor replaced the ONT as well as the patch cable, broadband light flashes between red and green. The Metro Fibre technician redid the splicing on my end as well as where my street gets fed from, same issue.

Metro Fibre bought the Link Africa network in my area, and ever since they did the switchover, the 7th, I've been offline. Anyone know someone that might be able to assist in getting this resolved?

apparenrtly they busy lighting lower wavecrest, or should be done, and busy with upper wavecrest now, should be lit by end of the month, at which time it becomes the fun of the entire switch and the cancellation and trying not to end paying for 2 ISP/Links.

Looking to sign up with Metrofibre but the quality of their infrastructure installation at my complex is worse than horrible:
1. Multiple unsecured cables running/hanging over walls.
2. Junction box lying half open for rats and birds to pluck at.
3. Fibre cable coming into the house is not secured.
Is there anyone here from Metrofibre to address these? Can send photos if needed.

Wow thats horrible. Which contractor did the installation? The guys who did my block did a fantastic job except I've been waiting for the camera points since December

Not sure but the ownership lies with Metrofibre. Here are some photos.

who signed off on the installation? the contractor usually has to send pics of the entire installation.

I'd also like to know.
This is at my complex and it was installed way before I moved in.

That looks like a super old install though. Maybe it was moved/damaged when the electrical fence was installed which looks new.

It also looks like some it it is going to the Telkom pole.

The electric fence is older than the fibre install - their technicians were here last year to troubleshoot and lay new cables when the entire thing went down. I think the contractor name is NFI.

I have been with MFN since they took over from Link Africa last year, so about 6 months?

And its been nothing but hell, packet loss, latency all over the place (even to the first hop) from 1 ping to 150, line can have such high latency that websites time out, call them and they "escalate" it.

Nothing ever gets done.

Avoid MFN, rain or adsl is better, not even kidding.

Is MetroFibre FNO+ISP?
Who's your ISP?
What does the ISP say?

no they are not my ISP, they are like 800 rand more expensive than anyone else.

My IPS and i have done literally hundreds of tests, and so has metrofibre.

Metrofibre came out with their router, and the problem persisted, when confronted with this they conveniently ignore it and refuse to actually give an answer, just "contact your isp"

When asked what testing they have done, they refuse to answer "contact your isp" , isp doesnt know either.

Its them but they refuse to try and fix it.
