Nice speed upgrade!
I'm on AH 1000/250, have you done a speed test today, maybe they busy changing to 500 up?Seems to be some big price changes on MetroFibre with their direct fibre pricing…
“MetroFibre promised to provide a “compelling offer” for reseller customers from 1 May 2023. This change will be announced in the coming weeks.” AfriNatic any idea if Afrihost is getting the better pricing and the 1000/500 deal?

MetroFibre Networx announces massive fibre speed upgrades and price cuts
Customers who previously had a symmetrical 50Mbps, 100Mbps, or 200Mbps product are getting a five-fold speed bump at no extra charge.mybroadband.co.za

That ~832MbpsYes looks like MetroFibre has quietly upped the upload speed of 1Gbps to 500Mbps upload.

That ~832MbpsI want to upgrade after the 400/400 special lapsed, but I feel in that case 500/500 might be better, though I'm no longer in Centurion so maybe this side is better.

Most definitely. I remember when MFN was one of the most expensive networks not too long ago, OS was the cheapest. They did well since then, very well, actually.Used to be 940Mbps constantly in Amberfield but it's okay it's still performing really well with virtually no downtime so not bad and the upload speed is finally decent.
Just to put it into perspective. This 1000/500 costs R1297 on Afrihost/MetroFibre while it costs over R2k for the same speed on a Vuma line. I think MetroFibre has done the most in terms of speed vs price.

What's funny is that I was nervous when I found out that MFN were the FNO building in our area because they were the most expensive for so long. By the time they finished construction 6 months later they were starting with their massive price reductions and speed upgrades. Most definitely. I'll try one month and see if I can get close to ~900 Mbps otherwise, probably back to 400/400 or 500/500
I have a feeling come May, for resellers, that 400 will be bumped up to 500 for free and 500 will get a price decrease to the current 400 pricing. Most definitely. I also want some of that CBD oil you're sniffingI have a feeling come May, for resellers, that 400 will be bumped up to 500 for free and 500 will get a price decrease to the current 400 pricing.
Same, this was back in 2020/2021. Our area finally got fibre, and it was MFNWhat's funny is that I was nervous when I found out that MFN were the FNO building in our area because they were the most expensive for so long. I'm making predictions!I also want some of that CBD oil you're sniffingOne can hope!
So basically 20 Mbps entry, 250 Mbps for the next tier and 500 for the next? Sounds doable
Ask them to reset your line. I had a similar issue with a lower upload speed and a call to support solved the problem.Still 1000/250 my side it seem, even if it doesn't get upgraded to 1000/500 its still a very good price for a Gigabit connection
Did the upgrade from 500/500 yesterday with CISP to the 1000/250… should have stuck with my 500/500… my speed now is around 10/10…lol…![]()

Sometimes the ONT does that when you upgrade. A re-provisioning will fix it.
