Which ISP are you using on the MFN Network?

I think MFN is doing it intentionally to gain customers on their own ISP
this, as I'm beginning to learn you deal with 2 people when you do anything regarding Fibre
an ISP and an FNO, and both are competing your your buck and both have weird rules and conditions with their systems.

got my Vox Router today, a Hap mini AC2, got the fiber activated by the same guy who did my Afrihost activation initially,
lets see how it all goes, as AFH had weird issues in the last few months, with weird glitches and my Huawei Routers IP changing to my WAN IP for some odd reason.

I'm not touching that lol

Well I would venture that's partly why Web Africa can offer 400mbps @ R849. Cancellations fees and reduced support.
Afrihost absorbs the losses from calendar months notice imposed by the FNO and downgrade fees on behalf of their clients so you as a customer can change your package or cancel without penalty, Afrihost also offers a dedicated support team here on Mybroadband. That money has to come from somewhere.

I guess this is where the rubber meets the road, are people willing to pay for better support with no lock ins and cancellation fees or does everyone just want the cheapest connection possible and will take whatever compromise that comes with it, cancellation fees, barely any support staff etc...

MFN direct and Web Africa don't exactly have a good reputation regarding their support but they are cheap.

pick your poison, cheaper connection or Better support, you cant have both.

And 50/50 at R797.. bit cruel. I know you and @AfriNatic don't have a say in the pricing, but it really is unfair to have 50/50 users at 400/400 for 3 months, then expect R100 more for the old 50/50 speeds.. I mean, I'd be okay with 100/100 at R797, oh well.
I'm glad you got ungraded from 50/50 to 400/400. I only went up to 100/100, it didn't even cross my mind to ask @AfriNatic for help

You sure you're not limited by wifi/cable speeds? I assume you've got the AX3 router
I didn't opt for the router cause I had a tp link archer vr400 at home. Which I use to connect my Google WiFi to the fibre. I could be limiting myself but I didn't have the time to troubleshoot

Hi guys, there was a metrofibre outage yesterday.

Since it was resolved I cannot stream on MyFamilyCinema.

Anybody with any issues on metrofibre?

Yep same, I am currently with Rocketnet but moving away end of June, the support has become horrendous. Lost all my respect for them when we moved houses and any other simple task is impossible for them.

It looks like Cool Ideas customers will not be getting the same changes as those on Afrihost and Websquad, paying R899 for 100/100 Mbps, whereas other ISPs offer 250/250 for the same price. If Cool Ideas don't make any changes a change in ISP might be on the cards here.

Any info @TheRoDent @PBCool @CoolEscalator ?

My 100/100 is still 100/100 on AH:

At least you know you are getting bumped up to 250/250. There is no 100/100 option on AH website when you try to sign up, same with Websquad. On Cool Ideas the 100/100 is still an option. Maybe they are going to do it next month, but if there are no changes, I am really considering changing ISP then.

It will take a few days for the changes to be completed for existing clients but if you want a speed bump now you can submit the change in clientzone and drop Afrigirl and me a pm so we can complete it for you.
Thanks, good to know, I’ll just be patient then, don’t want to add to your plate.
