do you have a Nokia Beacon 2 router from MFN, if so, download the Nokia Wifi App, follow the instructions to set up. Username is shown in App, cannot remember which page.Does anyone know where to get PPPOE details to setup new router
I have been trying for a week, they keep giving me the wireless details or router admin details.Ok, well, the quickest and simplest way to get the settings is to ask them for it.
Good day. Does Metrofibre throttle their clients? Are there different rules when it comes Youtube, Netflix and IPTV services streaming? I have no buffering when streaming 4k videos on youtube. When I stream 4k Sports streaming through my IPTV service, the buffering is non-stop. Normal HD streaming is fine, no buffering. My IPTV service provider blames my ISP for the buffering I'm experiencing with his IPTV service. He even send me proof of a video of the same channel I was watching where his was not buffering.
I'm on a 250meg line.
Any help please. Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I have just spoken Metrofibre and they it's the undersea cable break that might be the problem. She could not really give a clear reason why but ja. Also the cable break has got no impact on youtube. The thing I don't understand is that I can stream normal HD live sports with no buffering but not the 4k live sports buffering every 10 seconds. I know that IPTV services are a hit or miss. Sometimes it works flawlessly and other times it's a pain. I think I will use a different Android TV box with the AV1 codec.IPTV servers are in EU, most likely a peering issue from MetroFibre. They most likely not throttling.
Youtube is local in South Africa.
IPTV is a hit or miss depending on your ISP and its peering to your specific IPTV's servers

Hi.I see there is a outage impacting quite a number of suburbs, Sunnighill, Kyalami area, Carlswald etc.
No connectivity since yesterday afternoon, and still down this morning.
This is marked as only medium impact....that doesn't make sense given the number of suburbs impacted....and current hours of downtime. or is there a different way they classify the severity of these things?

Hi.
We have updated the status of the outage.
Fibre break, no ETA yet. I will post updates as soon as they are available.
Honestly not sure, was Joburg water that caused the outage.Connectivity has been restored.
Looking at the damage is this a permanent fix or just temporary till whoever is digging there are done?
