Mi Max Owners Thread 3GB | 32GB Version

I don't understand why so few Chinese phones have black models available - I have never seen a black MI MAX, I only see white, silver or gold. I think black - particularly on the front of the phone looks so much better, as you don't get to see the bezels quite so easily. The Xiaomi MI MIX, is available in all black, and I have been considering that one.

I hope the new MI MAX 2 that is reportedly due out in July/August, will have a black version....preferably with at least 128 GB ROM. I would jump on that one...

Nilkin make excellent cases for Xiaomi phones - I have an almost identical one on my Xiaomi Note 4, very good texture - feels and looks like good quality. Unlike the cheap plastic spinoffs that you get.

I'm with you on that. That's perhaps the only issue I can find with the phone so far. The fact that the front of it is white.

Thanks. I definitely couldn't wait a month or two. Waiting two days for these screen protectors was long enough!

I've got one already (with a crack). The free one that came with the Nilkin case isn't actually glass..

I can live with the crack for now. I'm more interested in how the black edges will look on the white phone :)

Fair enough. I'm going case-less for now. Not sure what to do with all the crap that is stuck on the back of the phone. Just leave it there, I guess.
 
So it seems the main issue with this phone is the availability of accessories in ZA? I want to get one to replace my dying P7 but I'm mortally afraid of buying any phone without a screen protector from day 1. I see there's one on TakeAlot but the reviews are pretty bad.

Am I completely out of luck with sorting a screen protector on day one?

You can get the one on takealot. Just it leaves maybe 1-2mm of each side of the screen unprotected on each side. It's not great...

Yeah, I saw that in their reviews.

Incredible Connection told me they can apparently cut custom size screen protectors. I don't know how good those will be but I literally just want my phone to not break the first time it drops.
