Can anyone verify that they see the same on their Microsoft online account page, please?

I have reactivated a client's office 365 Home subscription this morning, but was then unable to get the desktop office clients to refresh the newly reactivated status.

After I logged into the new account page at https://account.microsoft.com, I noticed that nothing was indicated in the 'Subscriptions' box, except a free trial offer for Office 365. (The old page at https://office.com/myaccount never gave problems.)

I contacted Microsoft's online chat support, and after an hour of me insisting that the problem was on their end, and not on mine, the support agent agreed, after I jumped through all the hoops and he remotely accessed the system to see it for himself.

I just logged into my own account now, and saw the same thing. Although I have an active Office 365 and XBox Live subscription, only the free trial offer is indicated in the 'Subscriptions' box.

If I go to the 'Services & subscriptions' tab at the top of the page, it does show the correct expiry dates of the subscribed services however.

Good grief.

Decided to call Microsoft USA's customer service directly, and ended up with a call center agent who tried to reactivate Office again with the same product key I used to activate it this morning, and could not understand why the system kept informing him that the key has been used already.

Tried to explain it in as clear and simple terms as possible that the system already accepted the code, which is why the new expiry date is correctly indicated as in a year's time on the subscriptions page.

He also did not know that the new URL for Office 365 account administration is now consolidated into accounts.microsoft.com, but still used the old one at office.com/myaccount, which got redirected to the new URL.

Looks like the only available channel left is to drive out to Microsoft's campus in Bryanston.

It seems like there are no native English-speaking support agents left who works at Microsoft.

After having explained the situation 4 times today, every new agent wanted to try the same tedious procedure to connect remotely to my system, even though I informed them we confirmed earlier that it was a server-side issue.

The Twitter account also acted incoherently. Sending me the link to the online chat facility, even though I informed them I already tried it.

So the issue is that the desktop apps don't refresh with the new extended license?
Yes, that is basically it.

They are now in unlicensed status, and the client cannot get any work done.

I am sure there's a pirate activator that would get it going again, but that would mean they still don't have access to the OneDrive space or the Skype free minutes that come with it.

In any case, what client would be satisfied with anything less than he paid the full price for?

As scheduled Microsoft just called from India.

They found a problem on their server that is affecting several clients, and as a temporary solution offered a free trial account of Office 365 on a different account.

Desktop clients activated fine on the new account.
