Microsoft and Takealot FAIL

S_p_i_k_e_s Fail

So in other words you made even more commotion when they were doing exactly as their policies dictated!? You are a piece of work indeed. I'd love to use some other choice words, but I'm sure its plain to everyone what kind of person you are.

And hiding behind what happens internationally... Lets see, Newegg is a big electronics online retailer correct? Whats their policy say... You send in the defective item, they review it, and only then send you a replacement (I'll even give you the link). Sounds a lot like what Takelot is doing? Maybe you should let them know that what Newegg is doing "isnt addressing the rights of their consumers."

So, how about you stop making up blatant lies, spouting absolute nonsense when you have been treated perfectly well (barring one stray call) and just go back to waiting for your replacement mouse. What really gets me laughing on the floor, is how you think after all this you even think you did them a favour by not requesting a refund. Epic!

So far I have also had very good service from them and find emailing the best and cheapest way to get information from them :D

+1...

I can't fault TakeALot on this either. I just bought some head phones last week and I got the stuff after a day.
If it gets faulty, I wouldn't mind if it took them a week to resolve it. Considering they are a "general" dealer, I don't expect them to be experts in handling certain products.

"I did them a favour by not taking them to the CPA for a faulty keyboard and mouse. Never mind they never knew it was faulty and I expected unreasonable turn around times on communication/an exchange/returning the goods. I am the customer! I am right! I want it now!"

I've seen it in many threads like this. Usually some guy who has never worked in retail/etail, doesn't understand how the internal systems of these companies work, and expects stuff to magically happen.

Who in there right mind buys a Microsoft product anyways, kudos to Take Alot

I had a similar experience with Prophecy.co.za...lets just say that they won't see anymore business from me ever again.

Hope you get your problem solved.

Prophecy is awesome I cant complain there as well will def buy from them again as well, Henk is doing a great job there and carbonite is so awesome as well

The sad thing is he supposedly runs or has run an e-tailer.

I can say the same for takelot, they've always met or exceeded my expectations.
I guess when things go the right way, them most of the e-tailers perform well, but when things go wrong then the apple cart fall over at some of them.

Not to highjack the thread but I bought a rather expensive item at prophecy.co.za that was partially faulty and when I tried to get it exchanged/get refunded they just weren't interested! (numerous calls, numerous e-mails) (best of all I realised too late the original packaging wasn't even sealed) Such a shame....

Thanks Byron for the notification of this thread.

Mr. Jax,

I'm sorry for the poor experience that you've had with Prophecy. If you send me an email with your phone number and your order number, we'll investigate, and give you a call to try and resolve the matter.

You can send an email to henk at prophecy dot co dot za.

Again, sorry for the experience. It's not the type of service we would like to offer. We have had issues with our warranty support in the past, and have since resolved the issues (most of them, in any ways). If you give me your details, I'll do my best to resolve your problem as soon as possible.

Regards
Henk Keuris

Wow, as a newer noob than the OP, I'll have to be very carefull about what I post on here obviously, is it OK if I PM Archer and Doobyscoo before posting, to verify what constitutes a worthy thread?
While its possible that the OP's post was embelished or emphasised a little as a result of emotion, it was at the end of the day only his opinion,...which is, more often than not, exactly what is posted on forums, opinions.

I could be wrong, as I am a noob, but I dont think this qualifies the OP as a "blatant lier, spouter of absoloute nonsense or a piece of work that you would love to use choice words apon",....by the same logic, I suppose thats just your opinion.

But why respond with vitriol to post that by your own admittance, is hardly even post worthy?

Never had an issue with Takealot, then again never had to return anything but it does seem like from the OP they did exactly what they undertake to do, seems a bit a harsh to rub their noses in it. Its not their fault MS makes k@k mice and keyboards :p

We only offered a counter opinion.

I look forward to your future PM's.

+1 The thing is people new to online shopping will see this thread and then decide not to buy for example from take alot based on the OP's post we basically have given the public user more than one view point on take alot as well as any other company mentioned here

Back to my previous post buying Microsoft products you cannot expect to receive the best after sales support as the product itself is ****ty, now perhaps someone else loves MS Products everyone is entitled to their opinion but when talking especially about Online shops in South Africa one should not discredit them and rather contact them directly and try to sort it out, in this case the OP did state he tried contacting them perhaps just give them a reasonable time to work this out

Exactly, people mustn't think this is poor performance from takealot, you will not get instant replacement from any online shop in SA, they always inspect the part for abuse then give you your return.

Otherwise whats stopping someone from buying a component, keeping it for 5 and a half months then dipping it in the bath and instantly getting a new one.

I had a mouse which I returned to them, the first time it stopped responding, they sent a brand new mouse.. which I bricked after trying to update the firmware to solve a different problem I was having... they then gave me another one... which I gave away.

PS. don't buy a CM sentinel gaming mouse.
