Ok purchased a 10 inch for my wife. Its preety good and snappy.

Issues so far

Uses a specific charger.
Free space is only 5gb after windows and office install so microsd card is necessary.
Processer showing up as 1.4ghz and not 1.8ghz

Overall seems good and should be fine for web browsing etc

Got samsung s4
Tried using it as a wifi hotspot
Not connecting
Please help

I got the 10 inch and am very impressed, given the price. I connected it to a powered USB hub so I could connect a keyboard, mouse, printer, a 3G dongle, and 2 other USB devices I use at work, and everything worked perfectly. It runs software I developed for desktops, but am now re-doing to work nicely with a touch screen and can be viewed portrait or landscape.

I do have one concern: it only has 1GB of RAM. I think that because 1GB is not enough for Windows 8.1, they enabled virtual memory, something you should not do when the hard drive is flash/SSD. As a result, the life of the flash drive could be short. Of course, we'll only find out if/when the SSD dies prematurely.

I was looking at the size of the page file and thinking the same thing.

I wonder if the SSD and battery are replaceable?

Anyone willing to open their up to take a look?

Exactly 1 month old, and the charger stopped working. It uses a needle style connector, so it isn't an off-the-shelf part. And apparently the micro USB port can't be used to charge/power it. Now I'll get to see how good the support is.

Please leave your feedback regarding the support you get with getting a new charger, rather interested. GL

I'm pretty sure the MicroUSB port does allow for charging, you just need to have the right cable to do it.

It's complicated.
There are solution for Samsung and Sony Xperia S, not sure it will work for Nextbook.

See Makro have these on special again (10.1" = R2599, 8" = R1499). Tempted to get a 10.1" (dropped my old Acer A500 tablet last year and it's been six months since I ordered a replacement screen off e-bay)

To those that now had them for a while, what's your impressions ?

I bought the wife one for Christmas, and she's been using it non-stop. No issues thus far, and I'm honestly just as impressed with it.
Biggest gripe was the tiny 16GB internal storage, but that's easily fixed. Even with a Bluetooth keyboard, the battery life is acceptable, and thus far no major issues. I've had my wifi disconnect once or twice for no reason, but I don't suspect the tablet to be the problem though. R1500- well spent IMHO.

I'm still using mine (since November last year). I had a problem with the charger but got it replaced. The keyboard is terrible, and sometimes I can't get it to turn on for a while, but it does sort of work. I would have been happy to pay a bit more for a reliable keyboard, and some more RAM; otherwise it is still surprisingly good for the money.

I do have one serious problem: I have several applications that need the Microsoft dot net framework 3.5, and nothing I have tried lets me install it. This means I can't install those applications. That's a pity because some of them would work very well on a tablet. Microsoft helpfully supplied a very long list of things to try to install it, but none of them worked. I have desktops and laptops running 8.1 and did not have any problem with the same applications.
