hie guys

i get this error message "access to the web server is disabled by default because it is controlled by basic authentication and does not use secure socket layer SSL " contact microsoft support for more info

any idea what causes this error message it pops up the moment i open outlook and keeps on poping at any moment/

please help

Close Outlook and goto your mail account properties

control panel
mail
open Outlook/Exchange settings
more settings
security
un-check the box that says "encrypt data between Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange"

This box is should be checked when connected to Exchange 2010 and 2007 but UNCHECKED when connecting to Exchange 2003 (or a misconfigured Exchange 2007/2010 server)

& if it's not an Exchange account then just disable "SSL Encryption" under "more settings/advanced".
