Seems like OEMs have cordoned off 'other' markets as their territories for Win8 tablets. Not sure what the agreement is between MS and OEMs but the way it is looking right now, it seems Surface will be sold only in the most influential markets (US, selected European countries, Australia and China).

If you are keen on getting a Win8 tab then the OEMs versions seem your best bet.

Unless if someone comes up with a strategy on how we can lay our hands on (i.e order) a Surface right now.

How do you come to that conclusion?

MS are just doing the same as Apple usually do, they release in certain markets first, then release to more markets as the production capability ramps up.

Not sure it'll blow away the iPad, but it looks great. Best alternative high-end tablet around as a matter of fact.

Besides app availability,it seems you may just be right.
But i suspect that the apps will be rolling out quite quickly anyway.

Yeah, nothing more appealing than a lower resolution screen, a lot less apps and I'm guessing, crap battery life. That keyboard does look awesome though.

I also know how to talk 'marketing jargon mumbo jumbo'. Give me a break. They compromised on the screen resolution and now they're finding ways to sidestep it.

I half expected this response. A little like the marketing mumbo jumbo that Apple are experts at... "retina" display... "lightning" adapter... blah blah blah. But let's not turn this into an Apple fanboy against the rest of the world thread again.
