Anyone who's gone to a dev days knows all about presentation tablets/laptops/smartphones and crashing :D

It's a major gremlin :p

Funny video, how embarrassing, you are not going to compete with apple if you cant even get the tablet to work in a presentation.

2.5 million views on youtube - Ouuuccchhhh

Why didn't he just reboot it the first time he noticed that it was not responding?

You would think that they would have a plan in place for this type of thing now that it has happened several times already.

There should be a guy standing off to the side with a spare unit ready to hand it to the guy.

He should have a plan in place that if it stops responding to immediately reboot it, etc.

How many more times are they gonna embarrass themselves in this way? :D

Apple and Microsoft have forced Google into a corner

So why did Microsoft unveil something that it isn’t launching yet?

It doesn’t matter that it’s not ready. It doesn’t matter that Microsoft is now competing with its hardware partners, breaking a more than 30-year business model.

I tend to agree with the sentiments of this article. Me thinks it's a good read and food for thought.

Personally, I think it's far to early to be ridiculing Microsoft over this.

It wasnt that bad, thought the dude handled pretty well.

It seems the problem is with internet exploder and the tablet, we all expected that :D

Hope these devices come in well priced, if not, they wont be able to compete, altho the pro version will fit business travellers very well, more so than the ipad, with full office.

Yea I read a similar article on tech crunch I think. The invitation to journalists only went out the Friday (3days) before this. So it was obviously rushed. Surface is only being launched in another 4-6 months, so it's still early days.

If the Xbox 360 is anything to go by then Microsoft knows how important timing is. Yea it had a massive defect, and they probably knew about it, but had they launched later, they would not have won this round of the console wars.

This one I reckon was just a demo gremlin though. I've been running Windows 8 as my primary OS since the RP and it's been rock solid.

A product that is 4 months away from launch had a bug, and this is news?
Really now...
