Good on MS. IMO, one of the biggest problems with Windows is security, the more steps MS takes, the better.

Just provided you do have the option to uninstall if you want to use another virus checker. I would hate to be locked in to an inferior product.

Sounds just like what certain GM Food companies do like Monsanto. Where they give out the free seeds, so that they can lock you in and sue you later when you try to make a sustainable income with out them. Oh well, I guess people like the quick win now and the loose in the long run. Who cares our small farmers need food now rite? Businesses needs the free software now? Who cares if it screws them over later.

I have to agree with Garyvdh, MS has never released anything as free, and then changed their minds and started charging.

MS provides a lot of free software that we use everyday and take for granted.
