Not at all.
OK, so it is not really an upgrade to get Ubuntu instead then ?
Maybe just stick to DX9 in XP....
Reactos.org anyone ?
They should just have it available for download at $50 - cuts out the middleman and all other associated costs.
Debit my c/card and be done with it.
Lord knows they can organize the servers to run it after the October release.
Some one put a leash on these Ubuntu fanbois!
Don't owrry too much about the Ubuntu boys - their OS is all they can get excited about since [-]there is very little you can run on it[/-] it is more secure and [-]few games you can play on it[/-] even more secure.

Just a side note, the suckers in Europe will NOT be able to upgrade, so upgrade pricing is irrelevant for them [and anyone who agrees with the EU]. Microsoft continues to punish the EU for throwing in "last minute" legal changes and thus they couldn't make a version that can upgrade -without- IE.
It's a case if you had XP with IE, you can't upgrade to a version without IE.

Linux has no native support for DX. WINE on the other hand has it's own implementation of DX and many win games can be played this way.
What I'm waiting for is for is all these VM people like VMWare & Sun to have DX support in their VM's. This way I could run XP in a VM and have DX support. It's comming though, just don't know when.
