Microsoft will replace Edge with Chrome-based browser for Windows 10 - Report

Not for me, I really tried to like it, but there were too many nagging issues, main gripe was mine's settings wouldn't stick ie. update something in settings, restart browser, updates gone.
New installation, right out the box, that I've paid money for 'cos I needed better than Home edition that the laptop came configured with.
Go on, google how many people with the same problem since when win 10 first appeared still no solution.

WTF has time to try & sort out basic crap like this?

For example, not Edge related, but new win 10 desktop at work: take a screenshot, save to disk, double click to view photo viewer reports 'app didn't start'..

Easily fixable I suppose but seriously? Come the f**k on..
I am always amazed at the problems others' have, I have never experienced the settings won't stick.
I have not ever seen an app that won't start. But each to his own, I will be disappointed to see MS Edge depart.

Then you haven't been in my shoes.

I've tried Edge both natively installed on my own laptop and on multiple VM's and other systems and without fail...it would fail each and every time to just manage basic things.

To the point that I'm forced to download Chrome because Edge just doesn't work.

So far, on the now 60 laptops I support including my own, no issues with Edge.
Win 10 Pro, on all of them, very careful selection of group policies, making sure of no incompatibilties.

So while I appreciate circumstances are different and that the laptops are mostly single devices in homes, I am either very very lucky, or, I am doing something right that does not invoke all these issues.

PS, at the moment I am for the first time on my new laptop, I am running win 10 home, as I have not yet got round to upgrading it to Pro, and, so far, no real issues although I do miss a few things .......

IF only because of the pain we will all go through while we get to beta test the replacement before they get it right again.
Even if Edge were OK, lesson learnt. Don't jump on MS plaform to early. Another example is Windows Phone.
