Later they stole code from Apple's Mac OS to use in their Windows OS, and then lied to Steve Jobs that they were even creating such an OS.
How wrong ... they did not steal code from Mac OS ... it was a contractor which worked for Intel which ripped some of their own code from Quicktime which they had developed for Apple.
Here is the facts behind this story.
In July 1993, the San Francisco Canyon Company entered into an agreement with Intel to deliver a program (codenamed Mario) that would enable Intel to accelerate Video for Windows' processing of video images. However, although Intel certainly knew that Canyon had developed key parts of the code for Apple, it did not specify that this must be undertaken in a clean room, which is a damning condemnation in view of Intel's experience of such matters following its own litigation with AMD. A month later, Canyon delivered the program to Intel containing code that was an exact copy of the code that it had previously delivered to Apple. Intel gave this code to Microsoft as part of a joint development program called Display Control Interface.

They also stole the idea of the mouse and GUI from Xerox while still working for Apple.
Well Apple did exactly the same as Xerox did not patent the WIMP (Windows,Icons,Mouse,Pointer) concept developed at their PARC labs.
There was a courtcase against them and and Apple lost as they stupidly licensed the look and feel to Microsoft for eternity in exchange for Microsoft products for the new Mac platform.
Okay ... so who is next to be corrected ... step right up folks ... the devil advocate is waiting
