Microtik and "R11e-LTE" modem with Fixed LTE

I bought a microtik LHG kit dish a few years back because of the shitty signal. Been using it, and it works like a champ, but I really want to start switching to ether Vodacom or MTN fixed LTE.


Now they list a few modems that you need to use your simcard in otherwise they block it?.

Has anybody tried using a microtik modem with the fixed LTE, or am I just screwed to use one of their listed modems?


I'm taking a big fat guess they use the IMEI of the modem to check.

Really wanted to go with afrihost or axxess uncapped fixed LTE

You are correct. You will get blocked. Tried it myself with an sxt lte6 on Afrihost mtn fixed lte, worked briefly then block. Has to be on list or you get blocked. Afaik the same is not true on business packages
