Mid Size SVU recommendations please

The Mazda CX5 is a excellent vehicle but I would not recommend it due to the scarcity of critical parts such as airbags and sensors.

We've had long outstanding claims where Mazda couldn't supply certain parts and the claims were delayed by 2.5 months awaiting parts.
Not to mention it is long in the tooth now, it is a 15 year old Car. Not worth it in this day and age.

To be honest if its accident related repairs that they cannot supply parts for then thats the insurances problem.

Most insurances will cover you with a courtesy car for that period. My current insurance even states that panel beaters need to complete the job in 30 days (inclusive of parts supply) and if they dont they cover the courtesy car.

So you blaming the insurance company for not being able to supply Mazda parts............
And then you biatch and moan when your premium goes through the roof..............
Most insurers will only allow 30 days car hire. Extended periods like 60 days are available but cost more. Yes there are a few Insurers that cover you on car hire till repaired but the cost per claim pushes up premiums.

Glad you're not my broker.

How are part supply and increasing premiums related? your premiums increase cos you had a claim, whether the part is available under the tree around the corner or coming from Japan, the cost of the part will probably be the same.

Also by your logic then.... Fortuners and Hiluxes must have the have little to no increase in premiums after an accident cos theres parts in every cupboard..........

Its called supply and demand, The rare the part the more expensive it is for the insurer thus increasing your premium. 🤷‍♂️

HIJACK!

2016 Mazda CX6 2.5 individual auto with 180K on the clock with FSH

Pics look good. Car had 2 owners and services only at agents according to the salesman. (Waiting for a report to confirm)

Car needs to do a trip from Langebaan area to CPT once a week. Must also deal with a little (10 - 15%) gravel road.

I like the 2.5 cos extra power for the long road and shouldn't be crazy heavy when i take a drive to the spar during the week.

Whats a fair price ? R200K ?

TIA

I get supply and demand but the cost of my Lexus GS headlight is actually cheaper than a fortuner headlight. Also came from Japan and had no increase in premiums from my insurance

The longer it takes to settle a claim the longer the car hire the more the cost of the claim. (applicable to where car hire is till claim settled) as well as what is mentioned above.

Rather tell us who the dealer is, so we can check his ratings and reviews. Thats more important than the car.

its not WBC

ratings are good on the google 4.6 - only bad ratings are a few years ago with no details.
The good ones look like real ones with actual comments.

in the same group as Wingfield motors - i found it on changecars.co.za

I'm waiting on the salesman to come back to me with the details of the services from Mazda

So a colleague just bought a brand new Mitsubushi ASX 2.0L LS CVT for around R410,000 from a dealer as a wild card pic.

These are very sluggish up in JHB, had on as rental.

N/A motors lose 15% of there power in JHB, and motor was allready unpowerred for size of car.

Same boat, bascially lookig at the following

Ford Territory (Chinese but atleast you have some for quality checks)
VW Tiguan
Hyndai Alcázar also seems intresting
MG HS

Chinese cars (Jetour or Haval) also have great options, you bascially paying 60% of the price for 80% of the quality compared to European cars.
