In the evening we often experience very slow speeds and high latency. It does not happen every evening, but often enough to frustrate us.

I'm sorry but this does not make sense to me, maybe too old? Somebody tries to help and the other tells him to keep quiet because HE IS MAKING LOTS OF MONEY OUT OF THIS. This is (**&^% bulldust

We have absolutely no Telkom lines in Midstream Estate X36 (It's actually Midlands Estate). Very frustrating!
3G coverage is also very bad.
Only alternative for me is to use SmartVillage. Had a guy here today doing a site survey and hoping to get everything installed and activated before end Sept.
Reviews of SmartVillage's service seems bad, but those reviews also say the actual lines and speeds are awesome. Will have to wait and see.

I am an Mweb customer. I pay for 4MB but I can only get 3MB. I feel screwed about it.

When it comes to ADSL problems, my feeling is that Mweb and all their upstream business partners lie, or try to cover the truth. I remember a while ago that one of the cables - Seacom or WesCom or whoever was down. The Mweb tech support did a fabulous job of pretending to investigate my problem, while denying that there were general problems.

Neither of them are serious, it's an IT joke. ;)

In That case I am Sorry. I really thought he was serious! Shows you how ignorant I am !! Lol

SmartVillage prices suck. I'm in ext 30, never thought I'd say this but I wish I could get Telkom!

I've had my SmartVillage line now for almost a month and I must say: I'M IMPRESSED!

Prices aren't THAT bad and the line is awesome. Had no downtime so far, and the latency is great!

They're also opening up the network to third party ISPs in the coming months.

What a disappointment to move in here in Midlands x34 and finding out no Telkom and no 3G.....

@BlouMoord
Just get SmartVillage. You won't regret it.

What line speed should I get? I am thinking I should get the 10MB line. How is the speed compared to 3G in a good 3G coverage area?

How do I go about installing this? Should I go to SmartVillage offices, or is there place in the estate where I can apply?

I've got a 4mb uncapped line and I get 4mb/s upload and download speed. It's better than my previous 4mb ADSL line.

Just mail [email protected] and ask for an application form.

Thanks. I assume that 4MB is sufficient for streaming uninterrupted YouTube?
Just contemplating the 10MB vs the 4MB given there is a small difference in line rental.

Yes. Streaming youtube at 1080p works smoothly.

I just recently upgraded from a 1mbps line and have no use for a 10mbps line at the moment.
