I have a seconrdary sim that I share my data with (MTN 50Gb Black Friday deal). Was thinking of cancelling my ADSL and getting a mifi/dedicated smartphone for wifi hotspot.
Any advice, pros, cons?

Thanks

I used an old HTC with a second sim for hotspot for a couple of months.
It worked well but you would have to leave the device plugged into a charger constantly and I don't think that's a good idea.

Rather scout around for a cheap mifi device.

I.have brand new mifi device whatsapp me for more information

i would say get a mifi, unless you already have a spare smart phone laying around doing nothing.. as for pros/cons, you might get terrible speeds if you start connecting a lot of devices to the hotspot, but same will go for a mifi device.. also, if you are using more than your monthly allocation of data, youll end up having to buy more which will be more expensive than buying equivalent ADSL data..

other than that you will be golden..

Using a phone, you can easily view your usage and balances.

I've been using an old Galaxy S3 as a hotspot for the last couple of months. Seems to work as well as the ADSL router I previously used.

Keep in mind that even the MiFi device might have to be always plugged in if you want a permanent Hotspot at home, otherwise it's not a bad device. Might also want to look into second hand 3G/4G routers.

Replaced a phone with a mifi device, it works a lot better as the device seems a lot more rock solid.
