Hey fellow forumites, happy Friday!

I'm busy setting up a VPN infrastructure in my office whereby i have 2x ADSL lines each coming into a DLINK DSL-2750U Router (2x Dlink's) which i have put into Bridge mode and then connected via the LAN port into Port 1 and 2 on my Mikrotik RB750 with port 5 being my LAN port to the switch. I am using dynDNS accounts as we don't have static Public IP's.

What i want to achieve is that we have various sites around the country and i want to connect them into our HQ via the VPN setup mentioned above. Port/Interface 1 and Port/Interface 2 have seperate PPPOE dial up clients set up and seperate PPTP VPN's setup.

If i try connect to my VPN via my Android tablet or Android phone it connects just fine and creates a direct tunnel but when trying to create a Windows VPN using Windows 7 i get an error and it won't connect. ANY IDEAS as to what or why this is? The error i get is as follows:

Disconnected
Error 0x8007274D: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Have you allowed the incoming ports for external access ? PPTP is 1723 - allow incoming and set your pppoe interface your are entering from.

Try checking your encryption settings on the windows machine. I found changing it to Optional Encryption solved the windows to mikrotik issue

The default for Windows is "Require encryption". Default for Mikrotik is "Use encryption if requested". You either have to change all the Windows machines, or set the Encryption to "Required" on the Mikrotik.

On the Mikrotik go to ppp->profiles. Open your profile, and change the encryption mode under the Protocols tab.

Thanks for the suggestions! Will give this a go
