mirror.ac.za sucks

The most simple download manager: wget -c <path to file>

From another post.
I figured I'd amuse you guys with some stats on just how popular this release was in terms South Africans can understand. Looking at the figured for all the za.releases.ubuntu.com nodes combined, we peaked at 2gigabit a second, and are currently still running at around 1.3 gigabit/second.

Now, in real terms, at 1.3 gigabit/second, that amounts to 585gigs of Ubuntu ISO's *per hour*, or, in South African terms, 195 peoples monthly 3gig caps being burnt through every hour...

Kinda really highlights the problem with caps and the absurdity of the situation in this country with DSL caps :(

Reckon mirror.ac.za was really busy, but it is another great service like the IS FTP server too
