Misandry : Men don't exist.

Mangina.

:p

But seriously.

1) Which one of those 5 things really advanced the species ? And just a quick check on the stove showed me a man invented it.

2) Oh I'm not saying women are stupid at all. And I also know quite a few smart women. Not as many as men, but quite a few. Men are just 4 times likely to be geniuses.

3) Well if you haven't noticed, then you don't have your ears to the same tracks that's all.

4) Huge myth about the vote. This should interest you.

5) Well amazing how you read my tone over the internet.

Um, I think you are talking about te electric stove but the cooking stove was invented by a woman, Elizabeth Hawk in 1867. I would think that Chefs all over the world would disagree with you on advancement thing too. And house wives. And anyone who has a car.

As for women geniuses, how could we tell how many genius women could have been around in the 18th century and up seen as they were all barefoot in the Kitchen? My Grandmother was not allowed to attend a school, for fusk sake, she could have discovered some incredible "life as we know it" altering stuff. Only she had to get married and al the other stuff.

Dude, it's a real historical fact that women were denied political equality.

I can tell by your written tone that you dislike the fact that women tend to hold their own in all aspects of society these days.

I'm not knit picking here, but you didn't really stipulate "Everything of vital importance to man"... you said "just about everything"... So Ronjay does have a point I guess ;).

A woman inventing a stove in the 18th century ? Stoves have been around far longer that that.

Firstly genius can't be taught. Genius develops at a level way before school and can be detected then already. So that has nothing to do with it. It remains the case today when woman have been at school and enjoy an education system biased towards their strengths anyway , so the point is mute. Now I'm not trying to be mean, but you're attacking my assertion so I can defend it.

Finally is it true that women hold their own at all levels of society even if we ignore factors that skew reality such as university quotas etc ? You think about that for a while then answer that yourself. Who are all the great engineers, astro physicists, philosophers, mathmeticians, brain surgeons etc. You'll find at best a token few women in these types of fields. Again this is just a fact. Nothing mean implied.

Warning : Gross generalisation for effect coming up. Please calm down. I am well aware that there are many woman interested in the arts/sciences etc.

Even today when women are free to spend their time in any way they wish, most still spend it focussing most of their time on fashion, clothes and make up. Things they feel will impress men, or more importantly, other women. Feminist have even found a way to blame men for this. Up until recently do you think men were all free to do as they wished ? There was a class system that deprived men of lower classes as much as women. Didn't stop them achieving many great things.

I suppose what annoys me is that radical feminisms want women to see themselves as victims and never responsible for their actions. This affects us in very real ways in every day lives.

LOL, how does what women spend their time and money on make them less worthy? And now you are blaming women for a class system. LOL

Didn't I ? Well my bad. Well even the Australians invented some stuff, we're not going to talk about them like equals now are we ?

:P

I haven't blamed a single person for a thing here. I also haven't questioned anyones worth. You're far too touchy about this issue.

Actually my position is that women shouldn't feel forced to all be ball breaking business women and feel ashamed if they just want to be good moms and wives. My sister in law is microbiologist stay home mom and she's happy as anything. Good for her.

No, Genius cant be taught but it can be ignored. Nuff said.

And Last I checked, women and men go to the same classes at uni and enjoy the same curriculum. Biased towards women my eye. Your assertion is hogwash.

Whatever.

Oh, and a woman did invent the stove, before that, everything was cooked on a hearth, a big fire place that could accept a big pot in it. But if you don't believe me, check wiki.

Mr stroppy strop. It's the methodology that's biased to women and the majority of junior school teachers are women. But I'll post you a few videos on that later.

Let's focus in. Do you think misandry exists ?

Sure, but my money says a male mined the minerals, a male wielded them into metal and a male blacksmith built it. Here's a video for you. Sorry about the first few seconds, that is a bit much and tastles.

I would say the only women I admire and consider brilliant, although probably not geniuses are J.K. Rowling and Helen Zille. Nobody else comes to mind.

No... No! I won't accept that! ha ha. Jane Austen! Now that's a writer ;).

Also, remember, women have been oppressed, so I guess that makes all but Michael Jackson fair game ;) (Btw, want musical genius - the Faithless DJ is a girlie)

List of inventions that are important to the development of man for Oldbuck. (apt name by the way, your views are positively draconian)

1. Improved locomotive wheels (imagine how the British empire would have looked without the ability to expand said empire. The world would look a completely different place now.)
2. Kevlar. (Altered the way we wage war)
3. Medical syringe.
4.Refrigerator.
5.Rotary engine.
6.Telescope.

Women Geniuses.

Marilyn vos Savant was said to have the highest IQ.

Marie curie only person to win two Nobel prizes for two different sciences.

Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Mexican scholar and poet. She taught herself Latin before she was ten, and she was ordained as a nun because it was the only way she could study. She had to give up her extensive library and her collection of musical and scientific instruments to avoid being prosecuted by the Inquisition.

Margaret Thatcher, considered by some to be a political genius.

Plenty more, but don't want to bore you.

Telescope ? You urinate on the great works of Gallileo !

Felix Milet invented and patented the rotary engine. Am I going to have to double check everything you write ?

The fridge was invented by Carl van Linden. Why are you lying ?

Improved locomotive wheels ? A woman apparently once upon a time improved something a man invented and had probably improved before and since a millions times ? You're reaching.

Medical syringes have been used since roman times. You're so dishonest !

There's a difference between the bands you like... and the people whom have latent to the genius level. While all those you have mentioned are awesome, literally, however, apart from your older bands, none have revolutionized music... and even that doesn't make them geniuses ;).

I can start throwing around the names of singers who can sing well... but that isn't what we looking at anyway. Women can do music, and 'girl bands', or the female music industry is only exploding now... Want to argue that fact, well, previously, it was more just women who could sing, but they didn't sing what they wanted, all was very conservative, but in any case, I can think of more women singers who invoke a more compelling emotion than male singers.

You are the case in point male chauvinist. Once you've been shown any opposition from a women, you reject this, and then start swinging from vine to vine screaming your manly Tarzan calls, saying women just don't cut it...By your logic, black people in South Africa must also be sub-par, given that they are the most impoverished. However you just lack to mention that they kinda were oppressed for 50 off years... (Yet you the type that will carry a counter argument to that too).

I'm not really satisfied by thing though... I for the life of me can't remember which Arabian astronomer it was, but he used a 'telescope', but it was more of a device that made the moon bigger and clearer, and also let him see more stars... I'm not 100 % about it though, think I read it some where :). Otherwise, I've heard about all those being pretty much girlie inventions... all being vital to the development of technology.

No offence by everyone was punished and stopped from getting an education by the Inquisition. It was the Dark ages remember ?

I used to mock Marie Currie as a token women to appease the suffrogates who made hubby tea while he did the science, but since I saw a documentary about her and while I do not credit her with the discovery of radiation, she was no idiot.

Thatcher ? Oh dear.
