I dont know what is up with the V4ME website but my available data count keeps jumping up and down and yet AGAIN my left over airtime balance has been reduced to a miserable R0.00. Now thats AFAIK 2 months in a row that this has happened and at the rate its going im going to lose alot by the end of the year unless someone finds the fault.

Its all fair and well saying "Sorry, we made a mistake and will refund you ASAP" but after a few months this will start to become "Yeah we know we took your money. Our intentions were to give it back but we just couldnt help watching and laughing"

All i want to know, V3G, is if there is a problem with the PAYG billing in general or something with the vodacom4me site or something i cant fathom because i will really be annoyed if i have to use my mtn sim ( and spend money) so that i can reload a new bundle. I do not know how much money was taken as the last time i logged on V4ME ( previous to now ) was a few days after i loaded my 2GB bundle but im sure with VC's resources you guys will manage just fine.

I do apologise if i come off as a bit aggressive but that was not my intention. Im just merely frustrated and so I should be.

Thanks,

Try 'balance' to 100 and let me know what you see. PM me this same story with your cell number and contact details included.

PM sent.

Thanks again. Much appreciated. If there is a problem could you possibly inform me of what is was so if it does happen again ( which i hope it wont ) i can approach the scenario a little differently. :D

I strongly recommend reading the following [post=1056851]public service announcement...[/post] :).

Yeah, should put that in my sig....

The forum support is substantial nowadays and I'm fighting hard to keep it at a certain level. The reality is the moment it becomes more than a one-man show (me, myself en ekke), it'll have to move to the formal support structures and I'll miss you guys too much!

So I'm trying to a few things:

1) Keep the non-critical calls in the normal channel (155)
2) Only help with '155' issues when it's a total bugger-up or on its way there.
3) My main function (in my opinion): Keep you guys up to date and informed with the real info on what's going on, company policies and how to interact with Vodacom in a way that preserves your coronary capability.

There is another issue here - there is a lot of info captured for posterity in this forum - it is a knowledge-base that v3g has worked hard at building up, so wherever possible, I strongly recommend that forumites first look to see if a particular issue|problem has been covered before: read through v3g's sticky FAQ thread, if you don't find an answer there, then Google the forum for a possible answer - have a look at the forum announcement for Googling tips, and if you still don't find the answer you are looking for, then post a new thread. The point being that v3g's time should not be taken up with mundane issues that have already been discussed - otherwise v3g is just being forced to duplicate the job function of the 155 and 111 call centres.

On this issue of missing airtime, I had problem earlier in the week when my 2GB prepaid data bundle suddenly disappeared. What was funny about this incident was the fact that it used up my remaining money on the sim.

On checking my balance with *100# it revealed that I had R0.04 airtime and NO data bundle!!!

Luckily my data bundle 'returned' a few hours later. I'm glad it's back but this can be quite annoying when one is busy with some important work.

V3G, any idea why the prepaid system would give these problems?

ahhh so is that why its eating up my cash. I certainly dont like that.... now all is left is to find out why its doing this

Issues.

Same thing has happened to me passed weekend, what is even stranger is --- after recharging with R12.00 to get back online to buy airtime and purchase more data, I get to vodacom4me.co.za and see R4.10 left on my account? How is this possible with only 200 - 350 kb being sent/received combined?

I then proceeded to purchase more airtime through absa and then log into V4me again. Balance was R404.10 --- no change what so ever?

If someone can explain this please do, I am worried there are errors here, for starters my last bundle had 178MB left, somehow that was fully used but my dashboard doesn't show the same story. If I compare what the dashboard said I used then I should have had at least 30 - 50MB left.

Anyhow, my rant for the day...

Wait, theres more :P couldn't resist - I also had 619 errors the whole of Saturday in the Bryanston area. Seems to be happening more often of late.

Ciao.

Yeah i also get 619 errors but was really only this w/e. Took me 2 restarts and about 7 reconnects to finally get the thing to register.

I haven't had any problems with my PPDB so it doesn't seem to be a general issue.

I can understand that v3g isnt here to do their job but the problem is, to say the least, that the 155 and 111 people are somewhat clueless. I did call them ( regarding my missing airtime ) once... waited about 10min then hung up. Second time i got through and explained my saga and they said that my bundle was used up and therefor proceeded to deduct from my balance ( which makes me thing that they think im a n00b )

I find in many instances that the person on the other end is just throwing any old story our way to push to the next call.

To me it sounds like the [searchforum]PPDB Reservation System[/searchforum].

Reservation makes sense but still doesnt explain why its deducting from my airtime balance. If its reserved an amount, it should be using THAT which was reserved. but anyways ill see next month if it happens again.
