I like, my boss drives one. You guys told me to stay away from high mileage ones on another thread though?

That's not high mileage. 200k plus I'll consider to be high but not necessarily too high. 300k is the highest I'll take a car to though, then I'll sell even if it's going perfectly.

OK, cool. Turns out the boss's one is an '07 with barely 50k km on the clock, so he reckons not a fair example. The one thing he said was that he shouldn't have gotten the 1.6, which I agree with. I see some good bargains, so I'm looking now, 1.8 or the 2.2 will do me.

Updated Mitsubishi Outlander arrives … R60k less expensive than before!

Mitsubishi Motors South Africa has introduced an updated version of its Outlander, which interestingly comes in some R60 000 less expensive than before.

While the previous Outlander 2,4 GLS Exceed variant was offered locally at R559 995, this tweaked version (which drops the “Exceed” moniker) starts at R499 995.

The Japanese firm’s local arm says the updated seven-seater Outlander gains fresh styling and “many new features”. As before, power comes from a naturally aspirated 2,4-litre petrol engine offering an unchanged 123 kW and 222 N.m to all four corners via a continuously variable transmission.

This or the Forrester? Seems like the Forrester is winning in SA

Much as it's a nice gesture from Mitsubishi to lower the starting costs - this just plummeted the values on all the existing Outlanders in the market. I'd be right pissed off if this was me.

So, what you are saying is that no vehicle manufacturer can ever lower their prices. When you hear people say that the capitalism system is forked, I get it now.

They can. And they should. But if you bought an outlander in the past year, whatever your value was, dropped with R60k. I hope they lessen the blow on the existing owners, maybe like free services or something.
